Personally I haven't Desynced with the server for eons... not since 2013. Still... a few matches ago this guy was mentioning the hit scan weapons such as Mguns caused it, so I decided to take a spider champ out for a spin and give that theory a test. The very first mach I do, BAM... within a minute of spamming 4 Mguns in the middle of a heavy fire fight everyone starts walking in place, I'm frozen good 10 seconds and when the game catches back up I'm dead. Nobody else froze, and my ping remained a crisp 34.

Anyone else with similar results? I'm going to keep testing my theory until I get tired of the needless deaths.

It fits with my results. I've been using a lot of MGs and lasers (stock Thunderbolt 5S) and it's skipping badly.

Part of the problem is hitscan weapons, yes. It's been confirmed through private matches.

Reason we're likely seeing so much of it lately is clan lasers are generally better than clan ballistics, and they can have a lot more of said lasers than most IS mechs.

There are a number of other factors that people have been theorizing about, but none confirmed at the moment as far as I know.

Well it gave me hope when the first match was a success, but 2 more matches now and nothing so maybe I was just unlucky. If I can't accurately reproduce it by simply diving into the thick of things with guns blazing then I understand why the devs are having such a difficult time also.

It's this in combination with what they did when they implemented the rejoin function.

We've had hitscan mgs and laser boats since the start but this desync BS only popped up last patch.
