It's ok.

I was hoping for more than just a single missile hard point. Even twin missile hardpoints would of been better. Some of us enjoy making "Stock" builds of different mechs along the same weight that are not in the game. For instance using the spider hero to make a Javelin or how the Hero jager can make a rifleman.

I don't like the 2 ballistics. We already have the spider 5k and adding 2 ballistics over 2 energy just completely makes redundant choosing the 5K over the hero. Better off with quad energy.

The 2 things that really save this mech is the Twin AMS and increased reverse speed.

The 5D is still king of the battlefield for it's ECM but as a consolidation prize for your team for taking one of the "Lesser" spiders you an mount twin AMS.

The reverse speed is a bigger deal than you might think, it allows you to rock in and out of cover more effectively as well troll other lights by simply engaging them in reverse to get clean shots over circle jerking.

All in all I give this a B-

One day they will fix the Spider 5V and give it 4 energy hardpoints but until then it offers a alternate spider to play that doesn't make your team regret you bringing it.

As an added bonus you can make a panther build which is pretty decent.

Quick, someone photoshop a teardrop onto a picture of a TDK.

I like the fact that it has the lasers and MGs all in the arms, as that helps the pilot hit the same components with both weapon systems.

I think I'd drop the AMS to max out the armor, and probably drop all but one JJ to bump up the engine rating or give it a STD engine.

I agree that an extra missile hardpoint would be nice, as 2/2/2 could be fun, but overall it's kind of lackluster.

If I had extra cash right now I'd buy it though, because spiders are fun, and I think it's on par with the other light heros, excepting the god-tier Ember of course..

TBH, this spider will be easier to troll (if you're a competent Light pilot), because it does have a half-arsed build that merges the terribad Spider-5V with a half-baked Spider-5K. It's best feature is ONLY the two energy arm hardpoints (good for trolling from long range) or the CT missile hardpoint which will undoubtedly be used for NARCs. There is no middle ground with the builds for this mech.

Let's be honest... the man most responsible for balancing should be able to discern how useless that variant happens to be. Then again... we have ghost heat. Just giving it one more energy arm hardpoint would be sufficient, but we can't have good variants apparently.

So this.

RA: 2E
LA: 2E
CT: 2M
RT: 1 AMS
LT: 1 AMS
Mods: 2/2/2

So, your ideal Anansi would do literally everything a Jenner-D can do, plus have usable arms, the reversing quirk, an extra 'Mech module, an extra AMS slot, and the hero c-bill bonus.

Please forgive me for seeing a slight issue with that idea. ^^;

I think that set up with 1E 1B each arm would be pretty dope though.

If the TDK had jumpjets it would be a world of difference.

Besides the TDK should be considered a criminal act against all commando's. It should of had x4 missile hardpoints.
