LRM's are extremely counterable, here are some methods of rendering them largely ineffective;
Stick near your ECM bubble, or bring ECM of your own.
- Goes without saying, if they can't lock they can't launch.
Don't stand in the open
- Well this should just be common sense. If you're not close to cover you should be moving towards it - and this goes for moving between cover too, don't just run out in the open, maybe go around the outside.
Don't stand still
- Never stand still, ever. Surefire way to get you gibbed. There is virtually no reason to ever stand still.
Use that cover
- Remember the cover you're standing by? Well, when you get incoming missile, move behind it.
Stay at range or get in super close (not recommended unless he is isolated)
- Further you are away from the LRM person, longer you have to react and longer they have to stay in the open to launch at you.
Use high alpha builds
- You expose yourself for a short period of time, do a bucket-load of damage and sink back behind cover to watch the LRMs cascade against the building/rock etc.. High alpha builds are of course the mainstay of this game, get used to it, it's not going to change.

There is a reason why NO COMP TEAM HAS EVER RUN LRMS.

If I don't reply to people claiming that LRM's are OP it's because I've been banned for abusing an admin who thought calling people 'crap' was overly offensive - I'm sorry to rain on your parades but there are a lot of 'crap' players out there, they need to know so they can improve and stop complaining about non-issues.
