so I can get rid of these worthless Locusts and Clan lights, please?

EDIT: I suppose you can make them actually worth something, too. Not holding my breath for that though.

But wait, then if something changes and one becomes the flavor of the month, y'all be bitching and moaning to get them back without paying again.

I agree with being able to sell them ... but clan lights are only worthless if you use them in the same role as IS lights. Narc/ECM/ 3AMS + 1 PPC Kitfox is a very ice support mech. The only real issue I have is if you don't run the uber lights ... scoring C-Bills is tough (high damage = cbills (usually getting kills + component destruction)) ... I'd like to see additional balance / rewards for capping and other light activities.

Picked up my first Orion from the sale this weekend. Grinding it without upgrading the SHS has been... challenging.

I have loved playing my lights, but the reward for it blows big time.

I've found the opposite. Running ERLL + ERPPC w/ECM on my Kit Fox and regularly bring in 300,000 c-bills, averaging 300 damage (lots of assists, component destructions and spotting assists).

Gotta be really sneaky to be effective in clan lights. Using friendly assaults as mobile cover is highly recommended.

I'm watching you, Locust 1V. You are not paying rent and you are not needed.

Let me move the +30% bonus to Locust 3M.

I love them just like they are! The Locust, though situational, is a fine mech and the Clan lights can kick butt too. Don't whine about the mechs just because you can't play them right.

Exactly... Letting people sell them would just cause problems. Locusts may be important in cw.

Would you still want to sell them if that meant the mech bay had to go to?

Heaven forbid that PGI ever gets around to creating a game mode that makes one want to pilot a Locust... You know, like tonnage limiting teams to Lights for a scout only skirmish set on a really big map (like the games we played in MW4)... Or maybe a lights only raid on a frontier outpost (again easily set up in MW4), or even the Holy Grail, a Lights versus AI/player controlled Tank battle (ala MWLL)! Gee, those would be far too hard to do....

Though any of the above, or any new game modes for that matter, would probably be highly welcomed in most player's minds.

Totally agree, we should be able to sell any mech we have.

It's not about whining they're bad, it's just about being able to sell them. I could care less if you think the mg locust is "viable" or "usable" or whatever. Neat. Now, I know that if I'm going to pilot 4mgs on a light, I'm gonna use my mg spider because I like it more than my mg locust. Let me sell the mg locust not because it's bad, but because I just don't want it. Let me put something else in that mechbay.

What? No, let me sell the mechs so I can use the mechbay for something more worthwhile.

Locusts are straight up crappier versions of the other IS light mechs. The only difference between their playstyles is that you are even more limited in what you can do, since mistakes are even more punishing. The 20kph boost in speed compared to the 35-tonners doesn't make it any harder to hit, especially since its hitboxes aren't really any smaller. It's got the same giant Jenner CT, but with shorter legs. The Locust exists for one purpose, and that is to give thrill-seeking masochists another means to troll their own team.

As for these Clan lights, well they're not really lights. They're scrawny mediums. Flimsier, less powerful, and only slightly harder to hit than a Stormcrow. You play them just like you would a medium, only you have to be far more careful and conservative since you die in far fewer hits. About the only use role for a Kit Fox is missile defense for its allies.

That said, I probably wouldn't actually sell them, purely on the slim chance they might actually be worth something in the future. (hah!) I've never sold a mech and I'm not about to start with these junkpiles. They do make it sorely tempting though.

I've got 127 mechs right now, so no not really. I just hate that they're taking up space in my hangar. Really brings the place down.

Then I have the solution for you...just buy another mechbay and pretend the Locust isn't there.

Your welcome.
