So a 5v2 with already grim looking odds, I'm down to 42% and 7 AC 20 shots. Right Shoulder orange armor, left torso exposed dark yellow, and orange armor center. My Lance mate is exposed right torso and red armored legs.
I'll start the story where our third and last teammate gets swarmed by the 5 man, we are forced to back out. As we make our retreat and our last teammate goes down, I manage to pop two AC 20 and finish off the Cicada. We run a B lone for the other side of cover, and my lance mate manages to leg the spider and I finish it with an AC20 to the back.
3v2 now, we decide the best course is to make our way to the center of the map. Everything was fine until my lance mate got caught and legged with LRM's, I had to leave him but dropped an arty strike on his position damaging the Jenners legs to red internal on the left. My lance mate falls and i continue retreat. The Jenner decides to pursue alone and i manage to guess where he will peek, take his leg and immediately pop and AC20 and take out his other leg, 2v2.
Now, the Timber Wolf is very fresh, LRM 50, 2 medium lasers, The Direwolf also quite fresh, but has an exposed head, and a one weak torso side. I first run around the map for a good 4 minutes hoping to catch one of them alone, but they do a good job staying together.
Finally with one minute left I am forced to engage the two of them. I manage to catch them in the flank, the Direwolf turns and sees me 350 meters out, I take an AC 20 shot and see a component destruction thinking I got his side torso, then I see a kill conformation. I got a head shot, all of a sudden this game was a plausible fight. I manage to get withing 160 meters of the Timber Wolf before he unleashes the last of his LRMS.
Now he's down to 2 medium lasers. I unload my last 3 AC 20 shots, three hitting the center torso, and from there it was a laser fight. 3 IS lasers vs 2 IS lasers. A close fight but I manage to beat him out in the end with seconds to spare.
My only wish is I had this game during the tournament, could have put me in 3rd or second place
. Anyways, one of those hero games we all get once every thousand games.
