Just an Idea I had for the 8-19 release of the Vindicator Hero, and maybe future new chassis/hero releases.

On 8-19-2014, from the patch posting til 12am PST (8-19), put together a package, like the Medium and Heavy Mech Packs, featuring the Vindi Hero, and 3 "normal" variants (VND-1R, VND-1AA, VND-1X ?), for one, slightly discounted (10-15%), MC price.

I am willing to bet, that by the past behavior of the MWO community, they would sell at insane rates on that Flash Sale.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Would probably work. Assuming the normal Vindicator variants are ready to go by then, that is, there would be buyers for it.

man if they ain't and they are hawking the hero, ..... ya gotta wonder, but it is a possibility. I just think it's a marketing idea that would work.

I agree. If I'm going to ***** and complain about CW not being delivered, I'd at least like to do it from a fully mastered, new hero mech.

TBH, it would require "2 normal variants" to go with the hero... for consistency.

The question you have to ask yourself is whether the current series of bundles are successful. If the answer is no, then this is somewhat foolhardy.

15% off is meh. Start with 20 to 25% to at least raise eyebrows.

hard to compare bundles based off years old mechs that most of the long time whales already won, to a brand new design, that has been eagerly awaited by a large portion of the community, quiaff?

Also, PGI has seldom grasped the benefits of % off early sales, the Summoner is one of the few I can recall, so expecting them to go crazy (well, normal for most sales) Might be a little much...unless they did like 25% off..but only had the sale for like..3 hours.

And yeah, couldn't remember if it was 2-3 variants in the Mechpacks. Never needed one.

They probably do make some sales, as they've got all the buy triggers. Discount, extra bays to hold extra mechs, and cheaper premium time. Any proper whale is going to want all that so they can get straight to the good parts.

I would be tempted if this bundle popped up in the MWO. 15% off a 4 mech bundle for a small IS medium would certainly help limit the grind....

Assuming an MC price for the hero at 3375MC and 1700MC per normal variant we'd get a total price of around 8500 MC. With a 15% discount we're talking about 7300MC. For 4 mechs that sounds pretty reasonable.
