you know what is the best about this last 2 challenges! it is almost back to IS vs IS and it is a fantastic amount of fun without all the timberwolves and storm crows running around.

Yep. And, despite the first version of the announcement, so do trials.

still just another challenge of "kill most" instead of "win most" but I like the point variation

So after realizing this, this event isn't truly a Marik challenge, for there is no Flea.

WHERE IS MY FLEA?

Model numbers generally tell who produced it.

M = Marik (CDA-3M, AWS-9M, etc)
L = Liao (RVN-3L, CTF-3L, etc)
S = Steiner (BNC-3S, LCT-3S, etc)
D = Davion(AS7-D, CTF-3D, etc)
K = Kurita (AS7-K, FS9-K, etc)

There are some other ones that I don't remember, but none that are important to MWO.

Actually, the Atlas-D was a Star League 'Mech. The Federated Suns doesn't have any Atlas production lines until the Jihad era (though it has access to those built at Defiance Industries due to the FedCom alliance). The Firestarter-K is actually a Lyran 'Mech and even predates the Star League. It was built on Skye by Argile Technologies until that company's destruction in the Third Succession War; Coventry Metal Works then picked up production. The Draconis Combine doesn't begin production of the Firestarter until after the start of the Clan Invasion, when CMW gave Firestarter blueprints to the Combine's Luthien Armor Works as a goodwill gesture; in return, they ended up receiving the blueprints for the 45-ton Firestarter OmniMech (not available until 3056).

I find it funny that the Atlas-D is considered a Marik 'Mech for this challenge: the Free Worlds League has no Atlas production lines (unlike, as I mentioned in the Steiner 'Mechbay Challenge forum post, the Lyran Commonwealth and the Draconis Combine). The standard Marik Assault 'Mech is the Awesome.

The question is how much time will you put in to earn a 1.20 USD mech bay?

Doesn't exactly make much difference when you're having fun playing the game.

I could make more working min wage, but I sure wouldn't enjoy myself doing it.

UMMM NO. It was IS vs IS the first few hours. Now it's Clan vs IS casuals which is a complete and utter failure.

Yeah, didn't double check my examples, most of the Star League era mechs had the problem of not following any sort of pattern if their model number looked like the Atlas, Jenner, Firestarter, Orion, Jagermech, and Centurion (2 letters 1 number - 1 letter). Most other designs that have the generic 3 letters - 1 number 1 letter model number follow that rule though (Stalker, Hunchback, Awesome, Banshee, etc).
