What colors will you paint your mech and why?

Some of those are absolutely beautiful. I chose all black because that's my default until I get a feel for what looks the coolest and fits the personality of my character and/or unit.

If the painting is free to do pretty much as you please I will probably go with something like gray/metal for the majority of the mech with grass green for highlight areas.

Camouflage. I know it's basically pointless on 40-100 ton, walking war-machine but still, it could be useful. And camouflaging things is kinda fun.

Earth tones are great until you get a snow map. Earth tones on a snow map make you stand out like a BIG Moose poop in the snow.

I always prefer camouflage paint schemes for mechs. I think it adds to the military feel. Granted it's not like I am going to hide a 60ft tall mech behind a bush.

I'd pick some kind of situation appropriate camo, I don't want to make things easy on the guys with the big mechs. ( That won't actually help when someone spots me but oh well. )

I love blending vehicles into their environments and different patterns of camo. Ultimately, I don't think it'll be much about 'hiding' the mech, so much as making small differences in targeting. If you're in arctic camo, and it's snowy out, and you're moving at a good clip, your enemy should have a harder time landing his shots right where he wants them, at least at range.
