Besides that, long range weapons are king. The few times when short range brawling works does not persuade me otherwise.

This is the main point I was making when speaking about brawling. Back before the boating of all long range weapons even before the pop tarts you would poke on the way in to an all out slugfest

Canon values: Small laser 1 heat 3 damage. Small pulse 2 heat 3 damage. Medium laser 3 heat, 5 damage. Medium Pulse 4 heat 6 damage.
MWO values: Small laser 2 heat 3 damage. Small pulse 2.6 heat 3.6 damage. Medium laser 4 heat, 5 damage. Medium Pulse 4.6 heat (was 5) 6 damage.
Bet you'd brawl more with small and medium lasers with those canon heat values.
Especially since right now with MWO's heat values, Clans are getting close identical heat values for superior weapons at their canon values (i.e. ER ML is 5 heat 7 damage. If IS ML is 4 heat, 5 damage with less range, who's gonna win even with longer beam time? But if IS ML is 3 heat, 5 damage that lesser range isn't so bad and bam, you're on much more even terms).

If you were truly in when you said you were then you would remember bluewarrior online. When guys like me turned on heat vision and popped you from across the map with our Gauss and AC2s.
Winter put it nicely. You really just need to learn to move into the proper range on the proper mechs. If you really need open land that no one can touch you in to get into brawling range you have a lot to learn. Sure you may have to use cover to get to where you need to go, but it does not take much to do it. I know, I have come face to face with brawlers many times while in my LRM boats, and visa versa.
But seriously, you already felt the need to throw yourself on the ground, kick your feet, and threw an "i am leaving" tantrum because the devs have not made the game specifically for you. So leave, you honestly will not be missed. I have not seen you on the field yet, and with your lack of wanting to get better, even if you stayed, I would not see you come into my ELO bracket.

Take home lesson is quit bitching - open your eyes, and learn. If you are failing, it is because you are not adapting. Adapting is what this game is all about. You have to adapt to the maps, the scenarios, to your team mates play style and to whatever else the Devs decide to tinker with. If you are unwilling to adapt, then I think this game is not for you.
Good luck to you and be on your way.

But go ahead. Don't use Radar Deprivation, Don't use AMS, Don't use cover, Don't protect your ECM mechs - Just carry on complaining.

Because they're not actually leaving, they're just asking for attention. When people actually do leave, they don't start a thread about it, they just leave.

omg it's an mwo king dingaling. I'll private match you anytime and let you pick my mech. You aren't as elite as you think
Also never said I was quitting. Just said I would be checking back in around 6 months. I'm sure I'll be tired of destiny by then

Not claiming Uber, just stating a fact that if u were in alpha or closed beta than long range boating has always been in. As for the elo comment. Seeing who you drop with versus the people in my list, it is pretty safe to say I won't see you, not to mention that are whining because you can not close with a boater also states the level of play you are at. I am not the best, far from it. The difference between you and me that can give me the ability to be a higher elo is that i can have and will adapt to changes made in this game. If I wish to brawl, I will find my way onto a brawl, if I wish to lurm, than I pray my team has my back while I pick off the cowardly brawlers who are hiding and cowering behind a rock.
Pro tip, if you are getting hit by lurms even if you are behind a building, the cover is not good enough, or the lurmer is skilled and moves to get past said cover. It does not take much for a good lurmer to move around when his opponents can't stop wetting themselves behind a wall unmoving lol
