Just FYI - showing up in your Gold Dire Wolf, assuming company command, and ordering your team around is not a good leadership strategy.

Why not? Does leadership strategy boils down to what mech you are piloting?

Would it be ok if the player was not in a gold mech?

If the player in question leads the team properly it shouldn't make a difference.

I have a dream that my four little mechs will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their armor but by the content of their hardpoints.

We all know that there's going to be a certain reaction to a Gold 'mech in a drop. While it's certainly fine for somebody to click the CO button and give suggestions, buying a 500$ mech does not grant the right to order your team around.

BTW, thanks for the abuse, guys - it was meant as a serious comment, suggesting that the handful of Gold pilots might take extra care in drops to be polite.

I think the original post could have been better worded as "Showing up in a gold mech does not automatically make you a competent leader."

Although in lore, it would make you a Kashik, which would make you the leader of a lot more than 2.33 Stars (a star is 5 mechs).

Why? beacause they helped fund the game?

Roger that... I made sure my recording software was on... saw my first Gold... a Gold Timber Wolf last week and thought it was pretty amazing... come to think of it, I can't remember what happened to him as I got busy trying not to die... failed at that but still... will go back and watch the vid and see how he did (team won btw...)

Paulie, if you show up in an olive green Atlas Trial Mech and automatically assume command, would it be alright to call you a tool and ignore your orders? I mean, if we're going off of colour scheme to determine merit and all. Go back and read your own post. It sounds like you're telling anyone who has purchased a gold Mech that they can't buy tactical thinking. As Koniving has already said... you could have made your point 10x better.

There are no 500$ mechs.
