I found some very good tutorials on YouTube covering using the Mechlab with Inner Sphere mechs. Granted, they almost all show the older UI, but it's not hard to figure out in the new UI.

What I cannot find is a good comprehensive tutorial on equipping a Clan mech. I just bought a package of Clan mechs and am eager to get going with them. I could really use a decent YouTube on it if any of you Pros feel up to it.

Would much appreciate it.

There's only two extra (optional) steps, which are
  • Omnipods: below the weapons & equipment tabs on the far left there is also an omnipod tab. Drag & drp the pod you want to add
  • Omnimech arms, there are two tiny checkboxes in the arm (above the crit slots) for adding arm & hand actuators. Removed automatically if using a PPC or ballistic. Lower arm actuator adds arm horizontal traverse, hand actuator lets you punch stuff does nothing.

Currently the hand is only good for crit padding. I don't add it on my kit fox right hands though.

If you change arm omnipods do remember to add the lower actuators.

I don't have one yet. But I did make this pretty early on.
I'm walking someone through building their own Clan mech and answering questions.

They ~FINALLY~ fixed the ghost heat glitch. Had complained for a couple of months. 7.7; So the LPL and ER LL glitch no longer works.

Here you go. I go through both Inner Sphere and Clan Mechs.

Kinda why I avoided making a building tutorial; it's hard to compress one into under 20 minutes and that was with the old, simple interface and I was never happy with the first attempt.

I tried it in two videos one for clan then one for IS but it was just too much repeated info.

make sure you put all your weapons of your left mouse button that way you over heat a lot and the other team wins :D

oh and get two dissimilar weapons paired together that way when you put the aiming piper (cross hair) on your target one weapon hits and the other always misses B) ;)

Super helpful. Thanks!

Let me just comment also that I've never played any game before where the community was so responsive and so helpful. Sooooo happy I stumbled across this game a few weeks ago.

I think it helps that BT/MW is an older series, so the fanbase on average is older than say, the latest batch of Grimy Similar Army Shooter 2014. We're more mature and very passionate about this series, and we want to do our part to make sure the community and new players are informed and able to play ;)

Good tip, thanks. My other favorite was the guy that advised me to always stop and hold very still to line up my shot perfectly - especially when brawling. That one has improved my accuracy immensely. And my matches tend to be very short as well.

Need to be careful stopping to line up your shot, there's probably some 2x AC20 or Gauss rifle mech just waiting for such a nice stationary target. In mechs with high hardpoints, you can use ridges, move up the ridge, as soon as you can see target, press reverse and fire while you're basically stopped, but you minimize exposure.

Developers need to see more of these "requesting tutorial" threads, then maybe they'll actually make a proper one.
