Bug: Stuck In Reverse Motion

Suddenly in both online matches and in the training rounds my mech is stuck in reverse with minimal response when pressing other keys.
I do not have a joystick plugged in, only a 360 controller.

It might be the controller - I think it may be an issue with all peripherals, not just joysticks, but will wait for one of the many (many, many) more knowledgeable than me to weigh in.

It seems to be fixed since restarting my computer, but it does beg the question of why it happened in to begin with,
