No it's not. The weapon modules currently increase the heat of the weapon they apply to, much greater than the bonus they offer. His tweet is in reference to removing the penalty from the weapon modules, not ghost heat. They are completely different things.

I guess so, could be. ghost heat is a heat penalty though. Weapon are more like attachments so the word heat penalty was around before the weapon modules were in. one can wonder.

Notice how he does not connect Heat penalty to modules. He says "weapon modules to lvl 5 "AND" we have removed heat penalty. That is why I think It is heat penalty's for weapons in general Just felt like i needed to explain the rational. Of course I can be wrong. Would be neat either way, give people incentive and assurance to using weapons modules.

For the sake of argument... why would Ghost Heat be removed? Wouldn't it be easier to fire Paul?

Paul's not going to be fired anytime soon, so any "realistic inclination" to assume the Ghost Heat on the table (as poorly conceptualized, let alone executed) is a real pipe dream.

If Ghost Heat is actually being abolished, then maybe I'll dance in Paul's honor. Seriously though, you haven't even paid attention to the complaints on why those weapon modules suck in the first place to properly understand said context. The heat on the medium laser module for example is NOT WORTH TOUCHING, because the heat "penalty" as part of that tradeoff (not referring to Ghost Heat) is going to be MORE THAN PROBLEMATIC for just a paltry range increase. I'm talking about just putting 6 meds on something like a Hunchback-4J (not 4P, to make my example clear of Ghost Heat).

And your likelihood of being wrong here is around 99%. Sorry, mate, but he clearly means the heat penalty on the weapon modules themselves.

I can't even imagine why they would ditch Ghost Heat without having something ready to snap into place to accomplish the same thing.

it'll be good if lvl 5 modules increase the cap on the minimum ghost heat free alpha of certain weapons.

like lvl5 LL allows 3 free LL alpha
PPC...

Adding heat on weapon mods is counter productive.

The whole point of weapon mods is that it gives you an advantage in a certain area; as a way to "specialize" in certain weapons. Heat penalties are purely punitive and counter-productive to that goal....especially with the insignificant range increase they provide.

They would be wise to remove heat penalties from weapon mods...

Does anyone here know that modules never generated ghost heat? Considering that ghost heat has been in affect before modules. A module never changed how ghost heat worked. A mech would generate ghost heat with or without a module, a module just added a heat increase in relation to the bonus it gave Quiaff?

If that were the case as of right now we get heat penalties for the weapons themselves and the weapon modules.

Anyway, if it were weapons I think russ would have said Weapon module ghost heat instead of just "ghost heat"

I thought ghost heat was a penalty for Boating? AKA Firing multiple weapons at once

Very slim chance we'll ever get rid of ghost heat. It's almost certainly in reference to the weapon module penalties.
