Brandal Gareth's abortive revolt in 3057 could have cost the company dearly. Instead, the brief conflict brought to light a number of design flaws in the company's new flagship model, the Defiance, the production of which was immediately suspended. Rather than allowing this setback to derail their plans, Defiance immediately began work on a new design, the Fafnir, intended to showcase the company's abilities. Prototypes entered service in late 3061 with full-scale production having commenced in early 3063."
The above is from page 100 of TRO 3067.
The same information is also viewable here.
The Fafnir is a new chassis for that era - with design work starting in 3057, prototypes first appearing in 3061 (the same year in which the Lyran Alliance introduced the Heavy Gauss Rifle), and mass production starting in 3063.
The first Fafnir prototypes didn't appear until 3061, so there is no way that the design would be available a decade prior to that (e.g. the early 3050s).
Perhaps you should follow your own advice, Demon Horde, and "do the research".
Then why was the fafnir in the first ever MW game? that game took place in 3020 something i believe well before the invasion of the clans. plus i have seen other sources that say it was an old mech design that got replaced and later revived durring the post clan invasion era. Not online sources but actual battle tech pnp books.
