It was a cold snow covered battlefield. much of the battle i was scouting and painting targets not really paying too much attention to how it was going. I would bob and weave threw buildings tap an enemy mech and wait for the rain to fall from the skys. there was allot of com chatter which i barley noted because i was tangling with a persistent Enemy Raven who would not leave me alone.

By the time i finished the Raven off i hear "GG" over the coms ..

"whats up?" i asked

"your it, your the last one left" was the reply.

So there i was, a lone Jenner with light damage alone on the battlefield against unknown opponents. Of course i start to head for the enemys base and as i round the downed drop ship an Atlas pivots my direction.

"uh oh" i mumble as i look at his readout and notice he has moderate damage to his CT.

"I can take him" i announce to a chorus of laughing and responses of "Git him"

I start circling, dodging, weaving, dropping speed quickly to avoid his shots, picking up that same speed to make him miss behind me, changing direction of my circle, cutting close, fading away, all while trying to focus my 5 small lasers on his CT and RCT. things were going great and my confidence was building as i realized i can out pilot this guy.

Thats when the other Atlas showed up.... and he was in better shape than the one i was currently dancing with. Green and purple lasers shot across my nose barley missing me as i ducked behind the first Atlas hoping the second would shoot his buddy.

The Coms erupted with tips and suggestions for me which i quickly blotted out as i started my aggressive plan of attack. Stay close to the Atlesses, keep them separated enough so i could pass between them making them hesitate there fire for fear of hitting each other and not me, Weave a figure Eight causing them to try and keep up with me, rotating there torso's to their max side range limiting there mobility, hitting the same 2 locations on each mech when the targets presented themselves, hesitating behind the Atlas i was closest to keeping him between me and his lance mate, firing, running, dodging, weaving, winning???

Apparently they BOTH got tired of shooting at a running Jenner and missing so they both actually turned towards my < our > base in frustration. I wasn't about to let that happen. I took advantage of this by getting behind the rear most Atlas, matched his speed at 30m, and started alpha striking him in the A...er...Butt with my 5 Small Lasers. After 2 or 3 alpha shots he realized i had exposed his RCT and apparently called out to his buddy for help as they both turned on me again. Bob and Weave time. i returned to my previous tactic with the added Stopping behind that exposed RCT for a pinpoint accurate shot, then racing off to avoid fire.

I was so involved in the ducking and running that when the first Atlas Lit up like a firework, i didn't notice he was down at first. i thought "ok hes almost gone that was a component explosion" until i circled around to a smoking heap of molten metal.

Apparently, the other Atlas decided it was time to take the squirrel serious, and put his back against a building while facing me as i ran up on him. Tactics change time! I know Atlas's cant shoot there own feet, so i stood on his while firing up at his CT. The pilot apparently realized this and started backing up...well as fast as an atlas can. I stayed in that blind spot alpha shotting away ready to hit reverse at any second if i saw that giant metal knee come up when he started walking forward. He never did. i stayed in that spot until i could see his pilot module threw the damaged and exposed CT... until he started backing down a hill.

"Uh oh" the hill will bring me into his sight line!! i slammed my Jenner into reverse, stepped back 40m then slammed it back into full forward while mashing the jump jet controls. As i leapt over him, barley clearing his head, thinking "ohhh dont let me trip on his face", i spun back on him in the air. Time slowed down as he turned that exposed chest towards me, as i started floating to the ground, as i pulled that trigger on the alpha shot that popped his CT open like a can of spam in the microwave. Time sped back to normal as the molten metal of the 2nd destroyed Atlas landed all around my little beat up Jenner.

Somewhere in that fight my Coms were destroyed, but i could still hear my lance mates cheering. Back at Crash's Bar and Grill in the base i didn't buy myself a beer all night and when i got to my bunk, i realized that some where in there, i had finally stopped shaking. Oh well tomorrow is another day, lets hope i can keep this reputation i have earned in proper order.
