Probably the build I'd use if I were to buy it. Problem is, a Kit Fox can do that build with clan tech and an ECM, not to mention the KF is better faster and smaller.

Yes, it really actually looks like trash. I don't think Alex was involved with this monstrosity. Every time I see a Vindicator I start laughing and think of this:

The Vindy hero does look very good. Except for the left arm. It just looks bad. The for arm is way to long, it did not need to be the same length as the barrel of the right arm. The pelvis and head are to wide as well. Other than that I like the proportions.

Ok three things, the mech still looks good over all.

As far as viability goes, i want to try it out before I condemn the thing out right.

Really like it, matches the concept art pretty well. I'll like the proper 'Mechs better when they're released, but I think I might actually get this hero, since I've held off before on heroes.

Good to see a non-fat-erized medium 'Mech.

Hey, at least PGI did not disgrace it with the ugly-as-hell missile tube boxes like most mechs have been fielded with lately. (See, Catapult and Hellslinger if you care to compare) I hope this good trend continues with some current mech refreshes.

I do hope they made the camo a bit more flexible to swap the Black & White police look and maybe go with a Gold & Brown sheriff dept look or Silver & Black look of the highway patrol.

Heck, even might try an all back camo for the Secret Service/MIB look.

I considered the XL, but in all my games this morning, i lost arms and STs before my CT armor even went critical. I might have just gotten lucky with a streak of low Elo players, But i find it works just as well as my Zomturion builds thanks to the ML in the head.
Theres not really much you can put on it with those weight savings anyways (IMO). Larger/Pulse lasers, a PPC, more DHS or ammo for the SRMs maybe, But i like the extra durability the STD gives me.

Speed and DHS, for one.

Dunno what to tell you sir, most I seen, and most I talk to, got CT cored every death.

Just got done in Caustic, charged into an Atlas, Direwhale, Spider, Jager and Jenner. Took them 35 seconds to kill me, both my legs were crit, my entire left side was gone, no armor on the right side at all, and then got cored only cos i JJ'd into a corner and couldn't present my other side.
Like i said, my Mediums may just be at a low Elo where people cant aim properly.
(Team was supposed to back me up, Enemy was LRM heavy, but refused to come over the ridge till i was dead)

My deaths tend to look like this:

In that fight, i was chased by a TDK, KFX and VTR for around a minute. I went Left instead of right and ended up looking the Victor dead in the eyes and pointblank. Thats when i lost my CT lol.

I find it tanks damage very much like my Centurions.

I find the word "tanks" and Vindicators to be.....mutually exclusive. But, hey, it looks good, at least. Mediums are my schtick, so IDK, maybe that's what is part of the issue. But atm, it is far and away my worst Medium, making BJs, Trebs and non ECM Cicadas look good.

Ah well, Russ is looking into the CT hitboxes tomorrow.

The only Medium under 50 tons I've managed to ever do decently with is this Vindicator, lol. Can't stand Cicadas and Blackjacks.

Eh, I took the trial BJ out for a lark the other day and got a kill in it. AC20 + ML + mobility turns out to be alright when you have appropriate-size hitboxes. Still wouldn't call it good though.
