Collision!

i've had it many many times right now and i'm sick about it, especially when piloting
some of the slower (turning) mechs....
Enemy Mechs jsut walking through me, mostly lights and mediums and they mostly standing
behind me firing my back and i'm trying to find out how they are now because the server
warps me a few times after THEY walked through me, i did not walked forward right through
an enemy, no, they did.. so why THEY appears right behind me shooting my back? They
should get warped somewhere else as they collided with my mech.
right now i had one of these annoying kitfoxes with double ac2 hitting me, then, after i find out where the .... is, i started charge him and he started running just through me, i used JJ to find out where the ******* is when i got warped a few times, finding him behind me melting my back armor... that one or two times again and i was dead...
also happens when these ******* circle around me and as the circle gets smaller and smaller because they can't do anything else, they just walk through me, i get warped and thats it in most
cases... just sucks.
add Collisions...... doesn't matter if somebody gets damage/falls down or not just don't give ppl the chance to walk through somebody. Blocking enemies retreat is also an optional feature out of it.

Had that happen to me too. And the enemy managed to get away since, Timberwolf.
It'd be nice if at the very least you could block mechs smaller then you. Or even push them back. This warping upon contact is just annoying and immersion breaking.

You can. But I have warped through people, and had people warp through me. Not sure what causes it, but there is definitely a collision where two mechs will block each other.

It seems to work perfectly when blocking team mates from retreating under fire though

Actually you can push smaller mechs it's just very little. For proof try and snuggle up to a light behind a tight rock while the lurms are raining down and you'll notice you inch the light slowly out of the way until he's no longer in cover. I've seen this happen dozens of times.

yeah BUT thats not enough. if you keep running on him you will for sure walk through him soon.
edit: and get warped.

If the "server's simulation" of the game doesn't match up with what you see, just imagine the numerous other side effects that you would probably be experiencing.
Don't ask for something that PGI is struggling to build a proper foundation for.

We already have DFA.

...If you can hover your jets up high enough that is.

Na... sometimes you'll get stuck on him, both of you will stutter and flail about like you're having grand maul seizures, then magically body parts will explode and spend the rest of the match bit**ing at eachother for griefing the other.
I had this issue a lot before realizing just how severe the JJ nerfs were when I'd try to politely jump over mechs blocking my path and get stuck on them due to craptastic thrust, then pinball around back and forth until we both lost limbs.

Nah, just have running into another mech trip you up a bit so you lose control of your mech for a moment. The bigger mech gets almost no trip up, the smaller one gets tons, the bigger the discrepancy in weight, the bigger the trip up effect for the smaller guy.

The game already has that feature on every map except weight class doesn't matter. It's called terrain.

Stole my thunder! lol....I have no problems walking through enemies like I'm Casper the friendly mech....but heaven forbid i wanna back up a few steps and the PUG's are stacked up behind me like domino's waiting to fall.
Last night before I had to rage quit over the lagging and moon walking, was in a game on River City a KTO and myself in a TBR were both stuck.....looking around trying to find what we were both stuck on. It apparently was each other even know there was over 30 meters in between us. When I was burning jj's to get unstuck when i landed he would take Torso damage like i was landing on him.....WTF!?

Load up the Training Grounds and then jump into the side of an Awesome. It seems to do collision damage to the side torso section you touched.

Also reading this gives the idea that when mechs are knocked down they could break target lock untill fully on their feet again. This would be fairly realistic and be on the + side to being knocked down. Maybe a friendly mech comes and shoulders you out of the way of an incoming missiles barrage or so.
Either way they took out kd because of possible griefing they say, but this also creates other greifing options at the same time.
Seen a firestarter in spectator mode standing behind a friendly mech trying to fight his enemy and blocking his movement and fireing at his back side at the same time!

Until someone competent takes over and makes a knockdown implementation that isn't a griefer's wet dream.
Anything is better then some POS light pilot that likes to leg hump assaults... LOL
KNOCKDOWNS or NOTHING
