Sorry, but you answered yourself here. The JJs are hardwired. They are part of the chassis, basically.

just entertain the thought that it is possible, and that PGI should consider it.

you'll never get them without jjs. Think of it as a quirk for that chassis. otherwise we'd beable to build Clan Mechs of Doom. There has to be some restrictions and personality to each machine. The Nova and summoner are jumpers.

There is a jump jet in the CT so it will always at least have one, but it would be nice to have legs that don't, just to have the option. There are already omnipods for other mechs that don't have a corresponding set. And it would be nice to see PGI continue in that vain.

I know that the jump jets are hardwired. I'm talking about getting new legs without having jump jets in them.

Out of blatant curiosity, what exactly is it you are planning to do with new legs minus jump jets?

That aside as every other man and his dog has told you - all five are hardwired to the chassis. They cannot be removed. If you get Summoner H legs they will still have the hardwired jump jets. As will the A, AA, C, E, F, G, H, HH, M and Q configs.

Aff, they are part of the chassis, again.

If you removed even just a JJ from the legs, it would not be a Summoner anymore, and you would need some kind of redesign work.
