Bonus question: Those of you with 21:9 monitors, what do you set your in-game "First-person Field of Vision" (FOV) to? I'm hoping the additional monitor width makes sense with raising your FOV to much wider than the default 60 degrees?

At 16:9 you can go to about 80 before things start to look really distorted like viewing the battlefield through a wide-angle lens. I have wondered, but haven't really figured out yet, whether I do better with a wider field of vision, or if that's only an illusion and I actually aim and fire better with a narrower FOV so that I focus on what I need to focus on. I mean, since I'd better be torso twisting anyway. Noob question that I will continue to work out.

I'm running 70, seems to be the sweet spot with no distortion. Necro powers.exe

What do you think about the new Samsung monitors like the 49'' 3840 X 1080 monitor? (price aside)

This would be awesome for my video editing, do you think my system could handle MWO running 3840 X 1080 with a decent framerate? I have an i7-4770 3.50HGz, 32 GB ram, GTX 780.

Thank you,
Adam

honestly, I'm not so sure how your well the 780 would handle it, and beyond that I would be wondering about the pixel density .... at 4K over my 28 inch screen, I'm getting about 137 pixels per horizontal inch, 3840 over 49 inches ... that's getting down to 78 or so pixels per inch .... and I would think that you might be getting close to the point that you can see individual pixels, for me personally, under 100 tends to start getting a visible, to me, at my end ....

in terms of gpu performance, well you could try out the desync trick to see how well the 780 would perform ... essentially you have to be using a full screen window, and you set the width/height in a user.cfg file, and leave the rest up to scaling ... but you could work out if you feel comfortable at 15 fps ....

Guys..... I am seriously debating upgrading my 32" BenQ 1440p and going with the
AOC Agon AG352UCG 35” Curved Gaming Monitor, G-Sync, 21:9, 3440x1440 Res, 300 cd/m2,100hz, 4ms,DP,HDMI, USB.

Does anyone have this monitor? Amazon has it on sale right now for $859 USD...... seriously about to pull the trigger..... Never gamed or owned a 21:9 monitor, and haven't seen one past 60hz yet, or one with G-Sync. Should I?

Running a Ryzen 1700 @ 4ghz, a MSI 1070 8GB with a custom water loop and a EK block on the 1070. Posted Image

Too late guys..... be here on the 6th. Posted Image Posted Image

Just played my first match on this new AOC Agon.... and all I can say is holy $hit man, what a difference a G-Sync 100hz Ultra wide makes!!! So far so good, frames seem very good, and the game play was smooth in the match. Coming from a BenQ 32" 1440P at 60hz to this 35" is like, just wow! BenQ was fine, but dam, this one takes the taco! What kind of issues?

Only issues I have had so far is the loading screens, they load smaller than the normal screens, not a big deal though....all good Posted Image
