I will take a chance at guessing.

Clan Wolf is more popular and its players are much more prone to dividing themselves to follow their own path

Well, yes, thats very likely a reason, with clan Wulf and Clan mockingbird ehhh jade falcon beeing the most popular followed by clan kittycat.
But we seem to be far off even from clan smoke jaguar.
I admit my battletech-Lore is dusty, i was reading the books and playing the Games when i was 12-16.
But i remember the ghost bears to have some of the most awsome fluff.

TL;DR: i expected us to be more popular ^^

Buuut you are popular ;)

Honestly i think you are more popular than the Jags. Only a few desire to be the bad guys

I expected the Nova Cats to be less popular actually

In multiple polls I have seen CGB is second in popularity.

A couple reasons I feel CGB has up until now, been only 3 units. CGBI (Bear's I am Oathmaster of), German Clan Ghost Bear and Russian Clan Ghost Bear is CGB's ideals of family. I am saddened to see fracturing of the Family, but knew it would happen come CW. Anyone who looks in to the lore aspect of the Clans, and connects with the closer knit thought of CGB, come seek us out. I have noticed that most members of each Clan actually exhibit traits of the Clan that they are part of... same with those who have a set view in the Warden vs Crusader.

CGBI is like an internet family, we help each other out, forge very close ties and work together for the betterment of the Clan. This is also why I have started this thread, keep the family ties close enough that once CW rolls out, we will be a mostly united front of Ghost Bears, and the barbaric surat dogs will tremble with the might of the Bear's mighty claws.

CGBI is actually a merger of 5 different units over the course of a few years.

Thats a very good point.
Might be the main reason we are not as fractured as other clans.
Still, i have the feeling the other reason is we, as ghost bears faction together, have less players then other clans.
I may be wrong of course, there is no way for me to do a headcount. But judging from the activity in the forum we seem to be the smallest group at the moment.

And yeah i know who you are. I signed in with you guys 2 days ago pretty much for the reasons you just pointed out ^^

I think a lot of the minimal CGB activity is more based on the fact the Germans and Russians stick to their language based section and CGBI tend to utilize our forums. There are a number of active bears in the forum, but we do appear smaller due to the less need to use mwo forums. I know a few members tend to avoid these forums like the plague.

We were the largest single Clan group for a while, or at least in the top 3. And we are still easily one of the largest, but i have not spoken with the other clans recently to get a good number, but we are by far larger than the average clan

I actually asked about this when I was inquiring, because I wanted to be a part of "the" Clan Ghost Bears, and found the lack of participation in this recruitment sub forum to be sorely lacking.

What I have found, though, is that there is no shortage of bears joining the fold, so there is little reason for the active marketing, er, uh, recruiting... that you see in the other factions. The only real division we have is, as Coffi points out, the language barrier. We do have lots of people from across the globe, hence the "international" part of our unit name, but the common thread is we primarily speak English.

Also, if you look at signatures across the forums, several of us are very active overall, but just not in this sub forum per se.

This is something i envy .. Your unity. Pretty much as in the lore, Clan Wolf is more divided.. We have something like 7 Galaxies and a couple other "merc" units -_-

They are not mercs. They are a rare and unique offshoot called "ninja bears", waiting for the opportunity to spring the trap and unleash their bearjutsu on the unsuspecting Spheroids they have infiltrated!

Looks like none of our trothkin are interested in this, unfortunately. A pity.
