Poll: Change cool down trigger on C ER-LL? (3 member(s) have cast votes)

Should the trigger be 1.5 seconds into the beam instead of at the end?

Hi all,

After the most recent adjustment to the Clan ER Large Laser how do you feel about changing when the cool down timer triggers? I think it would make the weapon more viable/unique if the cool down timer started 1.5 seconds after the weapon is fired instead of when the beam is finished.

At present the beam takes 2 seconds to complete then a 3 second cool down begins, which means there is a 5 second recycle time on the weapon. This is currently the second longest recycle time in the game. Instead, the timer would begin 1.5 seconds after the weapon is fired and end approximately 2.5 seconds after the beam is complete.

The net affect is the Clan ER Large Laser would be returned to the same cycle rate as before the last change. This would increase the weapons DPS over the course of the game but would not increase it's DPS per fire.

Thoughts?

If you're going to do something like this, better just to reduce the cooldown straight-up rather than work in some kind of odd mechanic.
