I'm a little confused when it comes to the clan and faction weapons.

Other than buying clan packs here (http://mwomercs.com/clans) and buying hero and clan mechs in game. - Is this the only way to get clan weapons or am i missing something?

Just to note, hero mechs do not get access to Clan tech unless they are also a Clan mech and there are currently no hero mechs out for the Clans.

For now there is no mixing Clan and Inner Sphere tech, Clan Mechs cannot use IS equipment and IS Mechs cannot use Clan equipment.

the game follows the Battletech time line, where a day in 2014 corresponds to the same day in 3049, the first mixed tech designs are still years off, so do not expect to be putting Clan engines, heat sinks and weapons in you IS Mechs any time soon.
