Gtx 650 2Gb Question

Budget for him is very limited... his system is fine but he's stuck with an onboard graphics card, and we all know how well those are for serious gaming...
What he's found right now, for the time being, is:
PNY Geforce GTX 650 2gb from Best Buy along with a better PSU...
What he's doing is looking at the bare minimum he can get into his system to enable him to play for now and long run will be a new computer down the road...
From my limited Google-Fu... the GTX 650 looks to be semi-on par with my old GTX 550ti I used to run... which, I know it RAN MWO, just nothing like my GTX 760 OC I run now...
Opinions or ideas?? I told him to go for it, he's been watching youtube vids for well over a year now and is itching to get online and play for once... LOL...

That's what I was thinking and told him... thanks...

The PSU he's looking at getting (no link) he says is a 600W, does include a 12V rail on it... running about the same as the card he's looking at...
As for online... think he's actually looking at hitting the stores in his area today or tomorrow morning JUST so he can get online and play some... as I said before, he IS looking at a new system in the long run, just not possible for him at this time...
Either way, thanks for the replies y'all...

This works too, the card only consumes around 70w at full load. But stock PSUs don't have much room to play with though. They're just good enough to barely run the system most of the time.

Amen to that... my system I run... store bought, upgraded myself... sad little 200w PSU came stock in it... that went away VERY quickly...
As for the PSU he's looking at... still haven't heard from him as to "what brand" it is... but know he said it's another one on sale...

As for the PSU, don't let him buy it until he finds out what it is and we can okay it here. To hell with Google; we're here to make sure you get the correct advice. Not only might the PSU suck, but even if it doesn't he might be overpaying massively, even on "sale" (emphasis on the quotation marks). If saving 30 or 40 bucks by getting the same or a comparable unit via something like Amazon means waiting 2 days, that's a tradeoff he'll be happy to have made, in two days.

If you want to upgrade you could probably only keep the case, maybe psu, and harddrive if it's sata.

Total was going to be roughly around $150 he was looking to spend on the GPU/PSU... but, since it looks like his CPU isn't going to cut it as well, I'm going to recommend to him to hold off and just continue saving up for the new system he's been looking at...
Thanks for the help all!! Mucho appreciated...

If you take a look at the later posts in the $500 or under build thread there are some good builds there budget friendly.
You'll have to ignore the ones where people forgot the $500 limit tho.
And i would ignore the AMD based builds, MWO does not like AMD chips (at least the bulldozer and after ones anyway)

Thanks DV (and everyone else)... passed on the links and info to him... I like the parts picker one myself... (looking to upgrade my daughters computer, my old one, and that's a good place to start...) For a little over twice what he was willing to spend today he could end with a decent system that's got room to go... AND willl let him get online with us... LOL (who doesn't want more targets to shoot at...??)
EDIT - come on now... I know there are lots of players that have performance issues with their AMD CPU's... but I've gotten lucky with mine I believe... older AMD quad core... coupled with my GTX 760 I run consistent 50-60 FPS (w/vsync on)... turning it off I get jumps into the 1200 range now and then... hence why I turn vsync on...
