While the 10 and 20 rewards seem ok and it takes a reasonable amount of time to get those two. To get another 30 wins seems not worth it to get 6 mill. It takes like 10 mins per match or more and say you avg 50% win loss then it takes 100 matches total to get the 50 wins.

10 wins avg 10 mins at 50% win rate = 200mins for 3hrs 20 mins x 5 = 16hr 40 mins

I think that pgi expecting people to play 16hrs over a weekend is a bit much. I know people will but it seems harsh. is 6 mil worth the extra

20 wins = 6hrs 40 mins. Seems ok for a multi day challenge with a reward every 3hrs 20 mins.

but to get the 6 mill you got to grind another 10hrs. Hope the math is right here but damn! Just for 6 mill bonus.

How much do you get per match cbill wise? like 100k a match avg? using some basic and hero mechs. Non prem time. so you play 100 matches and get 10 mil plus the 6 mil for 16mill for the challenge and 7 days prem and mech bay. Is it worth it?

I think there should be rewards for 30 and 40 wins to make the effort and time worth wild.

30 wins = 1000GXP
40 Wins = free light mech basic variant IS only.
Whats your thoughts?

Just attempting to reach the 50 wins will give you a glut of c-bills - especially after your premium time activates. That alone can be worth something.

It was worth it because I enjoy playing the game. I freaking EARNED that 6.5 mil and if pgi sold mech bay decorations I would have spent MC to decorate mine with hookers and blow to celebrate.

It was fun. I worked hard to drive wins, not kills. I like that.

I had a good time doing it so, yeah it was worth it. I started with about 33 million and ended Sunday with 50 wins and 55.6 million.

But shouldn't you be able to pick when the Premium time starts? I do not like the auto start time as reward.

It's no different than if you spent the MC on a weeks' worth of premium time in the store. Banked premium time is usually reserved as incentive to purchase something else, like mech packs. I don't believe bankable premium time has ever been offered as a weekend contest reward.

I just finished it a couple of hours ago.

I started today needing 9 more wins and I jumped in my Misery and won 9 in a row.

The start of the challenge was actually harder than than the last 30 wins. Once that premium time kicked in I wanted to keep playing because I was using hero mechs and making 200-300K per match.

I did it for the c-bills. I started with about 12 million and when I was finished I had around 30 million.

Overall it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, and my teams won over 50% of the matches. I think the final reward should have been at least 10 million c-bills instead of 6.5, but I don't regret doing it.

The only thing I regret was the few times where I died early and made the mistake of spectating some of the PUGs on my team. I wish I could unsee some of the terrifying sights I saw!

I didn't participate in the challenge this weekend because the time required to get 50 wins is worth WAY more than a measly 6.5 million. At least to me.

I can make that much just playing 50 normal matches or so on my own schedule. Trying to get 50 wins would require around twice that many matches. That's only about a 50% extra payoff — Which is not enough for me to dedicate that much time for.

Now, had it been something substantial like 12 million c-bills I would have no problem camping at my computer for the weekend. But not for 6.5...that's just insulting. :D

Depends.

If you go in, solely for the 50 wins, and make a grind out of it. Then...NO.

If you go in and play as per normal, get wins, get losses, and hopefully have some fun (aka...play a video game) then sure, why not?

If I didn't have a family, sure! I'm currently sitting half way there, and the way my first several games went last night i swore I'd be able to get it in only 30 more matches (I then promptly last my next match of course :D )

But yea, its just something to push people that little bit farther, spend a bit more time in game.

The 50 wins was to try to make you stay online for hours getting it.

If the game wasn't bouncing around desyncing all the time (it is I have to say less for me since the patch on the 19th but its still no way near good enough to spend your weekend looking for 50 wins) I would have spent the hours needed without the event happening.

As it is I could only just tolerate playing with the piss poor server code, for 20 wins, to get what I feel all premium customers should have recieved for free as a sorry for being so crap from pgi, without the need to fight for it

The short answer is no.

In the 50th win, I was on Alpine and owned the hill. The problem however was that people more often than not tried to be the hero in the match... which usually ended up having many mini-actual solo matches (1v1) with people losing in that.

While in that same game, the frustration was building and one person ragequit over a comment because people weren't actually focus firing.

We still ended up winning the match, but that's a culmination of the kinds of bad play that existed in the solo queue.

Well, I started late sunday and by thismorning I had 25 wins. I think I will just stop there. Not really worth the time for me when I play other games and have kids to just get cbills. If there were other rewards for 30 and 40 then I might...like cockpit item or something.

I finally got50.
It took forever and lots of losses. The positive is the amount of bills, gxp, and what not I got from all those rounds. Waiting now for cbill vindicators to go alone with the st Ives. Wish modules weren't so much.I started 1pm on Friday and probabLy took 16 hours of play or more.

I got my 50. The 6.5 is nice, but you'll earn more than that just trying to get to the 50. This weekend, I've earned over 13 million C-Bills, the C-Bill award withstanding. Thats starting with Premium Time, btw. That 50th win just multiplied my earnings by 1.5, and I managed to Elite out some mechs and earn over 10,000 GXP (think I got some from challenge completions though), I made some decent progress, and as a crappy player, while the grinding has been frustrating, its given me the opportunity to improve.

Is it worth it? This is a better weekend than any other for grinding like this, but ultimately it comes down to whether you're somebody who can tolerate and/or enjoy marathoning a game like this. I've had some awful losing streaks where I said to myself "**** it, I'm going to abuse the elo", though I never actually did, and I rage quit on Friday, when I had won less than a quarter of the matches I was in. I think a major part of the rage was the massive jump between tiers. 10 wins, then 20, then 50?? I think they would've been better off doing five tiers, something like the following:

10 wins - Free Mechbay
20 wins - One week Premium Time
30 wins - 1,000 GXP
40 wins - 2.4 million C-Bills
50 wins - Free Vindicator (after all, it has yet to be released, and is a Liao mech, so its appropriate, and whenever they give away a mech, they're encouraging us to buy two other variants - two mechbays and two potential MC buys including the hero variant)

I also think it would've been interesting to do it among varying game modes.

I bought 3 xl engines for light mechs from the cbills that I earned from the challenge. It was worth it.
