You probably will end up in dumb situation and half the time you will win those match regardless.

If only that were true.
Had about 20 matches last night (played for ~3 hrs) and got 3 wins. Let that sink. 3 wins.
I soon lost any fun in the game and just kept on playing to get at least the mech bay. Then all I wanted was to quit but not with a defeat so told myself that I will keep on playing until I won a match. I didn't make it. I quit and went to bed because I couldn't take it any more. How can a game (a thing with the only purpose to entertain) be so annoying?

I feel your pain. I had only 3 wins in my first 17 games. All 3 were base caps in Terra Therma. The rest were losses, mostly stomps. It got a bit better after that, but not much.

The thing is I have (had?) well over 50% win rate, but when I need the wins, I can't get them.

I have to say that I stopped playing long ago and only play when there's something to win like a mech bay. So since the stat wipe I don't have many matches played.
I used to have a 1:1 or better ratio because I used to play with groups.

Now my ratio is 22 wins to 40 losses.

Hell, I really don't mind losing. It just is part of the game. Especially when the result is close and the match was fun.
But this? This just sucks. Match starts. There's a disconnect. I don't need to press Tab to know it's one of my guys. Few minutes into the game, the first player is killed. Again, I don't need to look at the scoreboard to know it's one of my guys. At that point I already know the match is lost and would like to quit myself. But I stay until the end, do decent damage, get a kill or two and see team mate after team mate get shot down. Then at some point there are enemy mechs everywhere and I die in a few seconds. That's usually when I look at the score and see that I was the only mech left.

Why is this? Isn't it statistically assured that I am on the "other" team every other match?

What you don't see HBizzle, is the evil grin I currently have, knowing I am at least partially responsible for making your solo queue experience 3-4 games longer than it should have been.

plying direwolf with 2gauss 2lpl 4mlas, just standing around a corner and 1-shoting people. gets fairly boring but it's the best way to win a game imho. Currently at 37 Wins / 2 Losses

Then you are either profoundly lucky, or the groups you play with suck :o

I tend to do poorly in the solo queue when there's not a lot of people playing, as most matches my team up consisting of a few average to good players and a whole bunch of really bad ones.
I suspect that this is because an elo difference between two players of ( for example ) 50 isn't much in the top tier but it's a huge difference in the low tier. So even if the team elo is the same, the differences between individual players can cause one team to be considerably less effective than the other.
It's basically the difference between somewhat bad and average, or the difference between good and slightly better, with the latter being largely irrelevant and the former... not so much.

I think I saw you in a few matches yesterday, might have killed you once or twice, but I'm fairly certain you killed me too.

Edit: As for my own status regarding the challenge, I played about 11 hours ( most of them ran quite long so it's about 50 matches ) so far and currently have 34 wins, I should be able to finish it today.

nice game especially considering there were 5 guys over 400dmg on the opposite team. I was just concerned about the premium time so when i got that it was all gravy. Ran a cicada build XL280, 3ERLL, ECM kite that worked really well. Bringing ECM every match and concentrating on covering the pugs from Lurm spam instead of dmg made for some easy wins.

same for me... just because i simply don´t enjoy playing solo... no, tbh, i hate it... it bores me so quick, that i needed almost 2 days for the 20 wins... went back to playing with friends as soon as possible, so fk* the 6.5 mil and the *anti-social* cue

It was yesterday, we had 2 people with ping 0 at start and I was piloting a griffin with single heatsinks... Still Celyth said he would carry and he did

I found Conquest was the place to be. Less of the stupidity, several good games, and easy solution to "hunt the lone shut down mech", and faster matches regardless of weight class.

I was consistently putting out the most or second most damage in most drops I did. I would say it was the other way around.

Playing the solo queue for so long really made me realize how few people actually know how to play this game well. So many poor pilots. So much LRM spam. So few instances of pilots hitting R to lock a target and gather target info so they know where to shoot it.

No ****, don't you see why we elites now complain and how valid or complaints are?

Thanks for finally agreeing with us.

Sandpit, you are equating my complaints about the solo queue with my individual play being poor, which isn't the case.

I think you're looking at the exception and making it the rule. Except maybe the lrm thing. LRMs strive thanks to rounds being a grab bag of might not be much/any ECM/AMS.

You are assuming you need ECM/AMS to survive LRM spam, which you do not. I have hardly any AMS on any of my mechs.

I just don't play the solo queue often, due to the pain involved. Never realized how horrible it was until now.

I actually think this was the longest stretch I have ever played the solo queue, as when I first started the game I immediately went on TS and found a group to play with within the first week.

There was this particular guy I played with on Crimson Strait... and I don't recall his name (and don't want to recall) was telling the team that defending the pass (we spawned @ the upper east side spawn) is the most important contributing factor to a win.

I felt like I was on an island (fortunately, someone else agreed with my point). This is literally what you are seeing in the solo/PUG queue... people that haven't truly learned to play in a group, and telling people what "he thought" we needed to do (we lost mainly because our force split up and wasn't doing well @ focus firing).

Sad, but true.

I think I just had that guy in game. When things didn't go the way he wanted he made this big deal about how if only people knew he lead real men in combat, and was apparently awesome at this game so anyone not listening to him was clearly a noob. These win based events really bring out the worst in people.

It's actually bad in any game you will indulge in.

Even competitive games like Counterstrike are pretty bad at the casual level. People can have a general knowledge on how to shoot, but completely lack any type of intelligence based situational awareness.

Obviously, more pub focused games like Call of Duty or Battlefield are even worse.

They should rename the challenge "Path to Insanity"

Literally had to do 1,000 damage + every game to secure victory or else my team lost lol
