I only regret Phoenix Overlord package, it happened this way; bought it, went on vacation for 2 months, ghost was implemented, weapons linkage was also implemented, came back, learn about the horrible things they did and too late for a refund...

Legendary Founders was great, i love the atlas ''One Eyed Jack'' style even tho i m terrible with it. The catapult was a blast ( no word play here only twin LRM 15) and the Hunchy and Jenner were fun.

Like the OP i also invested in the Direwolf and the Misery when it was on sale. The Whale is a beast and killing stuff with it is pure pleasure, it far from invincible and a lrm magnet but it is very, very fun. Misery well, Stalker are my favorite IS mech available right now so i gave myself a candy.

I'm not saying that spending money on MWO in its current state is a good investment, but that aside, out of the ones you have made, which one do you feel was the best?

Mine was buying the DireWolf. Hands down my favorite mech in the game. Also got the TimberWolf but i have to say i don't really enjoy it as much as i thought i would.

Founder pack was best value for money spent but fun wise for me the DireWolf has no comparison (only wish my team wouldn't leave my slow arse behind so often :D).

Best investment iiiissss... NONE, not a single penny.
Not until IS and CL's will be fairly balanced.

Timber Wolf alacarte. Expensive? Yes. A group of mechs that it is NOT mandatory to have meta try-hard builds AND still have fun? YES.

Misery was great until the broken MM blew it out of the water just before my T-Wolf came. Would pilot it again now that MM is (a little) less broken and 3/3/3/3 has helped (a little).

Founders Cat was awesome until The Great SRM Nerf.

...but the real winner?

SARAH'S JENNER. That thing is a running riot and will never get old. I do hope us Clanners can get our hands on a IIC variant (or IIC upgrade). I would gladly pay $10 for another (towards the same charity, of course) or even twice that.

Ok this is replacing my Founders!

Thanks for the kick in the pants Fleshwound. I wasn't thinking right! :D

Buying the Arrow was easily the best purchase made in this game. That 'Mech is just so much fun to play and, as a bonus, it really brings in the money through damage numbers and C-bill booster.

Early game access, a free mech with cbill bonus, tons of MC and premium time that ended up be a month more than intended. It's gotta be the best deal ever.

I agree that the cash I shelled out for Founders was worth it. Just wish I'd not gone with the Jenner.

Also, I always feel like the MC I spend on Premium time are worth it, since C-Bills are hard-earned. I can jump in an Ilya with premium time and make bank in no time.

It took all the way until the FOURTH POST before a bitter founder sounded off?!

Is that a new record! :D

yes because founders are the only ones with complaints about the game...

You can see that I went for the 4th Tier in the Phoenix Package. I haven't found anything that I like in the Battlemasters yet, so they're gathering dust. I didn't really use any of the extra Premium Time from the 4th tier as opposed to what I got from the 3rd tier, so I feel like I kind of lost out on that. Still though, glad I got the Shadow Hawks and Thunderbolts. I really like both of those chassis, so I guess I can still say the Phoenix package.

Besides that, I've really only bought Premium Time and Mechbays. I've bought a few mechs with MC, but I either sold them like an idiot, or I sold them because they were bad (Cicada). Had no interest in spending so much on the Clans. especially when really I need to hardware upgrades. I intended to get the Sarah's Jenner, but I missed that by just two days because real life issues sprung up.

Still waiting until they do some sort of testing out for Hero mechs. There's a few I'm interested in, but no way I'm investing in them without trying them out for more than what we got on the testing the other day.

StormCrow. It's rekindled my love of mediums. It reminds me of a time when the heaviest mechs weren't necessarily the most effective.

Also Sarah's mech. There's a childlike glee to be had in destroying your enemies from the helm of a mech painted with such amazing childlike designs. It's immensely cathartic.

I bought their 10 New Maps Pack... It really helped remove the redundancy of repeating the same maps over and over. :D

I bought nothing but found this post helpful!

The best investment I've made is the PUG cockpit item. It soothes my rage during the worst of map/server glitches.

Best was the Firebrand, worst was Ilya Muromets. The FB because it suit me the best, the IM because I can make the FB work better.

The Spider(C) was not as bad as I figured, since it got me into lights at which I excel at. That lead to the Ember, which I love nearly as much as the FB. I definitely want a Stormcrow, maybe one or both 'Wolves.

Legendary founders purchase (love the subtle differences in design they have) and Sarahs Jenner.

I have to break it down to short team and long term.

On the short term, I have really enjoyed my Heavy Metal, Dragon Slayer, Timber Wolf, Stormcrow and Battlemaster (P). My Flame unfortunately died out early just though better mechs coming out.

Long term however is a different story.

Heavy Metal is now useless to me due to the JJ nerf as its great JJ mobility is the entire reason I purchased it. Now it is just a 6750 MC waste that sits unused taking up a bay. Same with the Dragon Slayer. Bought it because I wanted a highly agile, highly jump capable Assault class striker then they nerf both its agility and JJs. Another 6000 MC waste that sits unused in taking up a bay.

Timber Wolf and Stormcrow are still good and worthy investment but with nerfs like that crazy 2.0 second C-ER LL burn time we are dealing with now, I am not holding my breath on how long it will be before they too are sitting useless in a bay.

The only good investment which is somewhat debatable was the Battlemaster 1G from the Phoenix pack. It is my best performing mech even surpassing the Timber Wolf and my "go to" mech for challenges and/or if I am needing to grind out C-bills. The only thing that makes this debatable is that I have found the other 3 mechs in the pack to not be that enjoyable. The locust I hate. The Shadow Hawk just doesn't suite me or my playstyle and the Thunderbolt, while not a bad mech a all, usually ends with a similar load out to the Battlemasters I have but offers less firepower, less speed and less armor. Basically I just don't find any reason to play it. So $80 for one good mech is a bit too steep to really make the Phoenix Battlemaster a good investment but I guess since I do really enjoy it, I don't really regret the purchase.

Buying a DW then realizing its a pile of junk (dies to easy) and then buying a TW and not regretting it ;)

So best investment has to be the TW, I love it...
