I run this game on a laptop so bad it doesn't qualify to be called a toaster. My FPS is averaging 18 right now. I still have no trouble with the game, and it still looks gorgeous.

I know that MWO has a rather high standard for a free 2 play game but, come on, it's 2014, you can't blame the game if you're trying to run it on a 10 years old toaster. The vast majority of gamers have at least a proper PC to handle the graphics at medium or even low (and they do want mwo to look good and not like MW2).
What you're trying to say is, that it's boring to play a modern pc game on outdated (or not meant to play with to begin with) hardware. That's not the fault of the Hardware and neither the the fault of the games.
And P.S.
I guess we won't hear from you until you're thinking of upgrading your hardware. FPS fix won't help if you're system can't handle the game to begin with.

For technical support by the players, on how to improve the performance of your exisitng hardware with game settings, you can go here.
If you need an upgrade for your computer, because it simply is to weak for the game, you can go here.
If you want to report a bug, you can do so here.
All these forums are accessible to recruit members.

You want a somewhat modern quad core or better, with at least 8GB of RAM and a modern video card with 2GB or more texture memory. I am not sure if PGI has updated their system requirements or not, I have not looked in a long time, but their old recommended requirements were barely adequate to load the mech bay, let alone play a match with reasonable frame rates.

How can he claim to want support and then never even come back to the website to see if it's been offered?

I know what that's like all too well.
Since Jan 2013 I played the game at frames between 7-12 depending on the maps. And also got me some kills (my best was a 5 kill 1111 dmg on an atlas in Frozen City... still think I just had tremendous luck).
From experience, I warn you about some physical issues that might occur while playing long hours with those framerates.
If you feel a bit woozy or a headache do stop playing for a few hours.
After a few months playing like that, I had to, in May 2103, stop playing for about 2-3 weeks.
Then managed to boost the FPS to 9-18 due to some digging around the forums and editing the .cfg files and was able to keep playing a bit more often.
But even on low FPS count maps I would just stop from time to time to give my eyes some rest (would hide in some place and then would get back into the match after a minute or so).
So a note of caution, get some more memory or a better GPU or a new computer all together if possible.
Playing at such low FPS can and will be harmful for your health.
