Short answer, yes. I'm about to PM you some info on our group, the Dark Sabres. Hang on.

There are no stupid questions. Only stupid answers.

And this is one of them. :-)

Stephen:

The main focus of the game is factional warfare between the Five Great Houses and their respective "Successor States." Each house works as a super-guild. You play with other player members of your house in battles with player members of the other houses over control of the various planets in the game world.

Please look here for a longer explanation of how this works and a map of the game world:
http://mwomercs.com/...munity-warfare/

And here for more in-depth information on each faction to help you choose who you want to join.
http://mwomercs.com/game/factions

Operating on the side are also player created Mercenery Corporations, who can take contracts from the leaders of the houses and temporarily fight on their side. Their contracts go to the highest bidder, however, so it is possible for a Merc Corp to fight on one faction's side on Monday, and then against that faction on Tuesday.

For a listing of the player Merc Corps, see here:
http://mwomercs.com/.../59-merc-corps/

Hope this helps!

EDIT: Yes, Yes, I forgot the FRR... but they don't really count. Silly space vikings.
