The zoomable strategic IS map looks pretty cool - but shouldn't the Sarna March be coloured blue as it is governed by the Lyran half of the Federated Commonwealth?

It was a gift from Hanse Davion to his Lyran bride.

Ya it looks great. Super glad to finally at least see it in game. Its fairly obvious this is a step and they are doing lots of work so who knows what will be happening with the map later.

I do have a few remarks about it, though it is a huge step forward to even have it.

1- St. Ives is set as Capellan. It is Candace Liao's Duchy, but it is an independent nation, and arguably more aligned with the Federated Suns than her sister, Romano Liao's. In any case, it should have its own colors on the map.
2- Likewise, the Periphery nations, at least the major ones, should also have their own colors and be represented on the map. Not necessarily because they'll be active participants (they really aren't in this period of time), but because they help push back against the algorithmically generated faction borders of the big boys. If you take a close look at the borders of Taurians and Canopians, you'll see worlds such as Canopus IV inside FWL borders, and New Vallis inside FS borders. Silly!!
3- Borders have some smoothness issues, and look unpolished as heck. Sorry 'bout that, but they do. Particularly obvious when you look at the outer borders, but the other borders also have some naughty-looking edge cases. Those color gradients on the borders probably should not exist at all and instead have a solid color border? I'm not sure...

I can screenshot a few examples if necessary, later.

Lots of work yes, but not ons the things that are keeping some of us from being able to play.

The map and unit creation has not helped fix the desyncs that some of us experience every game. Additions mean nothing if the game can not be played.

Pretty sure as it's WIP thats just a placeholder. Don't expect much of it at this time.

Keep in mind that this is the single longest period of time it has taken PGI to create a new map when you look at it.

Try not to die a little inside when that statement sinks in........
