So this may be the wrong place to put this post But i have have some a bit of testing and found a couple bugs.

1: my kit fox still seems to be producing ghost heat on 2 ERLL. On alpine, 2 ERLL fired consecutively generates 20% heat, simultaneously, they generate 30. Maybe it is supposed to. If it is, than the bug lies in the fact that the Builder UI does not display the warning about the excess heat.
2:the "heat sinks" built into clan mechs do nothing. So far as i can tell they are space filler to keep people from making better builds. I put 2 ERLL on a warhawk, then i took the right torso omnipod (its has 3 sinks in it) off completely and saw no change in the efficiency.

Perhaps these are not good criteria to test on, if you think of a better way to test these things please say so.

I think the heat sinks just aren't showing up on the efficiency rating; they definitely work in-game.

I suspect that the game just isn't updating the efficiency when you remove the omnipod.

The phenomenon you're observing is actually because lasers deal their heat over the course of the beam. Your heat sinks are cooling while you're shooting, but there is enough that they are being overwhelmed and heat is being built up. When you're firing two, they are already working on one, so they can't also be clearing the heat from the other. That's why two generates a higher heat percentage than twice a lone laser.

Also, I'd recommend doing your value testing on Forest Colony. It's heat neutral while Alpine has an environmental cooling bonus. It's easier to get consistent data when you don't have to calculate for planetary factors as well.

I don't own the Warhawk. Can you try Saving with the alternate omnipod in place to verify that the efficiency rating doesn't update? If it still doesn't change, try testing heat efficiency with a non-burst weapon set on Forest Colony with and without that omnipod. (CERPPCs are ideal for such a test.)

Edit: I just quick-checked Smurfy and it seems that no Warhawk has a variation in Heat Sinks. I think you may have been mistaken in this second case.
