hi together....

since i bought a few hero mechs, i would like to have the option to sell them for at least half the MC price i bought it. i bought 'em, played for a while and now theres one or another i just dont wanna play with, but selling it for cbills is a waste of real money.

would be nice to sell the heros and get some MC back i can spend on some other stuff.

Nice yes... but as a model of business it makes little sense. You see they make no money in reality by selling hero mechs... That is just a bunch of code and pixels swapping place. What they make money on is when you charge MC to your account. So to give you MC back they would in essence pay you to spend their own money.

Now i agree it would be nice, but i find it unlikely to happen.

I don't know, seems to be a pretty good revenue stream to me. You buy a Hero for full price and sell it for half. Then you go to buy another new Hero which likely means your going to have to actually ADD more MC to the new purchase.

Also when your sitting on MC, you have a tendency to spend it on things like colors or camo or warhorns or whatever which again encourages you to buy more.

In any case, it is a valid revenue model but yeah, I somehow don't think greedy PGI would every think outside the box enough to see value in this sort of system.

they don't "lose" the money... i would spend it for this or that anyways.

If they never did sales, I could see this. But since with patience you can always buy heroes at 50% off, I don't see how it can make sense.

thats a good point, but maybe if they ept track of how much you bought it for, 35% off or 50% off, then you could sell it for 50% of the 50% price, and so on.

I thought of that and they do have the records (you can check your purchase history), but it probably would involve connecting things that aren't connected now. <shrug>

Yeah, I regret picking up the Boar's head and Jester. I've also picked up the Oxide, Huginn and Ilya. I can only recommend the Ilya out of them all, although I bought all at 50%, so the lights were cheap. Out of them all, I feel like the Boar's Head is the biggest drag. I just can't figure out how to have a good match in it.

No Refunds on items that cost real $$...

unless it was an accidental purchase... then they will give you a refund...

but this is something you wanted... played for a while... then decided you didn't like it anymore.. you should get no refunds for that...

you couldn't do this will something in the real world... why should it apply here...

from a business stand point... what you are askin make no since...

Here's what should happen.

An Auction House. Let players spend MC on MC purchased things (Heroes, champions) owned by other players. And the same for c-bills.

Call it "the black market" or whatever, but let players develop an economy. Then you can take old mechs you don't play, but have kitted out nicely, and sell them to players who want to buy a fully built, customized, mech.

Why not?

Why? You can kit it out as a BFG build (AC20, 3xML, STD 250 engine) and kill steal all match long with a 30% c-bill bonus. Its a money maker.

@Apnu

I agree havin some kind of "AH" or "Black Market AH" in game would be great...

but then I could see a huge amount of accounts getting hacked an pplz (H)Mechs getting stolen..

this is something that happens in every game that allows players to sell n deal items to other players(AH)'s... which is the reason why PGI doesn't let you share cbill with your friends...

That's basically what mine was, but I just like the 4P so much better (or the BJ-1).

I get that. I do love the the 4P as well, and I have a HBK-4G(F), so I feel no need to replicate the BFG build on it. My GI uses all the hard points. I do more damage with the SRM6 than the AC I have, so I laugh when the enemy automatically goes for the hunch, and I blow their faces off later.

Still I haul out the 4G, 4P, or 4J more often than the GI.

True enough. D3 was famous for it. Maybe this: you can sell back mechs to the "house" (PGI in this case) and then buy previously sold mechs from the house. No direct player to player transfers.

I dont wanna buy heros, i wanna SELL those i dont wanna have anymore without wasting all of the MCk wich means real money, i spend on them.

The MC i would have gotten back out of the sale will be spend on other stuff so PGI has no losses.
