Is there some where I can go to find out what the war horns sound like before I purchase one?

PS: Get the Yardsale one, if you're playing clan mechs.

Yardsale by far my favorite. I wasn't too thrilled when they first came out, but now I find them kinda fun.

They all make the same sound.

It is the sound of griefing.

After you get used to them giving the sound confirmation on your kills and when you drop without one, it kinda feels like something's wrong with the game, or you didn't kill the thing. It is the first functional cockpit item that is not just for decoration, I do actually find them useful, never drop without one ever since.

So far my favourite is the isobaric, but i am not putting that in my mech.

Sonic boom looks the best and I am tempted to get it.

That's what I did - it's the one that sounds the most... clanish ;)

Yeah I use them for kill confirms too, especially when I'm launching Lurms or Streaks. It's the best way to combat the fact that the targeting reticule stays on a dead mech for a few seconds after they've expired.

Never leave home without one.

I'm on team Isobaric. Kickers are really cool too.

I'd use Yard Sale more if it wasn't so ugly.

At first I found then dumb, but yes, as kill confirmation and "sound tea bagging" it works well. Wish it just show on the cockipt though, or had a option to hide then. Cockipt itens bug me a lot :(

My favourite is the screaming surat because it is only appropriate to play the recorded death sound of the IS surats :)

My problem with the war horns is that all the good looking ones sound bad and all the good sounding ones look bad. :S

Blech! They all sound annoying to me...too long and I don't get them. Everything sounds like sound effects from Cloverfield. That damn thing was a baby...a baby!

They're great, but I just wish they were a bit smaller. Having giant glowing blue washing machines stuck on your cockpit bars is rather distracting.

Not having them on my mechs, for aesthetic reasons.

Yea, Yard Sale is my absolute favorite, but it looks bad and too cumbersome in many cockpits.
The prettiest are Sonic Boom and Kickers. At least they don't reek mid-20th century..

I'd say, we should buy either looks for Warhorns and get to choose sound FX for free, or buy sound FX and choose a look to our liking.

War Horn is a good thing, it's useful and satisfying, I'd certainly want to have more of those, as the UI is designed to make switching one item between mechs a real headache. Actually, doing anything out of battle is nerve-wrecking, gods bless you, UI2.0 designer). But 700 MC for a WarHorn is a pain. I've got only one, bolted it to my TDR (the only place it doesn't get in the way), and not buying another until there is some 50% sale on them.

Yes, and I really had some tough time of doubt, when I read about MadDog's exclusive WarHorns.. I'd pay much for that Falcon cry War Horn, but not 360$, of course...

I enjoy Yard Sale. But as has been noted, I think that most of them (Yard Sale included) look incredibly cheesy. If YS didn't sound so good I'd never have it in my mech.
