Got my three Kitfoxes and am working my way through leveling them up. Started with the "missile head", since that's usually the hardest mech for me to get anywhere with.
Settled on:
Change out one arm to the C Pod (of course).
ECM, AMS, CAP, 1xCMPL, 2xCLRM10
I have the Extended Sensor Range, and AMS Overload modules on it as well - though the AMS never seems to do me any good. If I get spotted I get flattened by missile rain pretty quick. I notice a LOT of guys are running Narc these days. If I stick my head up in front of the enemy, even for just a second it seems, I tend to get narc'd - and that's pretty much game for me. Everyone wants to get rid of the ECM Kitfox.
I'm getting around 200 Dmg per match (good for me) by following a simple strategy. I follow a big assault mech that looks like he knows what he's doing. I spam the R key constantly. I find I am usually the first one on my team to get lock and the action usually starts when I do. After contact I try to stay with the main line as best I can, but really have to camp a bit to hold my locks and keep the LRM rain happening. If a light finds me I try to scare him off with the laser. If he's experienced and I'm too far from the line to run for help he usually has me for dinner.
If I'm careful to balance missile raining with keeping close the line I usually survive the whole battle and get pretty good stats including a kill or two. Then it just becomes, did the big guys win or loose? If they won the match is just over all the sudden. If they lost it isn't long before a hoard of bad guys track me down. I usually keep the missiles going until they get close, then charge them firing my laser and go out in a glorious fireball. Huzzah! Love this game!!
