MWT is still accepting "Founders" applications, literally years after the game started... They have basically never gotten out of beta. It's a total crapfest.

They were accepting founders packages for about 20 months, until it came to light that Blue Lizard hadn't been working on the game in 8 months. Within 24 hours, the site was broken and 12 hours later was taken down entirely. IGP is refusing to give refunds to founders, stating that the money has been spent.

Fraud 101.

The funny thing is that I bet there are guys playing MWO that have heard and know about this that will still invest in this next great game from PGI, a company basically controlled by IGP.

Is refund a option from their side or are they required to give you a refund when asked? I can imagine that those people are pretty dissappointed or perhaps angry too.

This fraud has damaged the reputation of IGP.

They should really think about a refund - even if it is just some MechCredits in MWO.

That would be a token of goodwill, which is something that is badly needed if they want to do any future business with us.

I get the feeling that IGP was always a throw-away company anyway- a get rich quick on the government dollar scheme.

It's too bad because many some "hanger on's" that tried to generate excitement by sporting 3 consecutive tournaments that where fun (despite the many bugs). and played by at least 20+ people.

There is even the Meta game at Inner Sphere Wars that had a decent # of players. MWT has been officially ditched and replaced with Megamek for ISW just a few days ago.

It would be a nice gesture to give people that bought into MWT some MWO credit in return at least.

Uhhh... I bought the veteran pack some months ago (the cheapest one)
I hope ,if the worst happens, to get some kind of refund at least. For now we can only wait. -_-

The gameplay for it was really very slow and I only ever got it to work once on my computer. Moving your mech was a chore and everyone agrees that MWO's graphics made MWT's graphics look... really bad. I really do not know how one would go about salvaging the game to make it playable for most normal people (gameplay and visuals).

It was a good concept I think but people should realize that you develop a game to work on the strengths of a platform and a PC isn't a boardgame.

imo, playing MWT was just an exercise of making me wish i were playing actual TT and not a CCG tacked onto a terrible TT port.

Honestly if it does bite the dust, i have only one thing to say. Nothing of value was lost with the fall of MWT.

MW:TT was staggering in that it managed to make a video game more cumbersome to play than the actual board game it was based on

It seems to me that there may be a 'Conspracy to commit fraud' situation here that is worth keeping an eye on.

IGP is a Canadian company... so a good place to start might be here:

https://www.antifrau...eportfraud.html

I will send a politely worded request for a refund, and if it is not responded to in a positive manner, forward with official channels.

MWT was a terrible idea. The worst offense, was not sharing assets between MWO and MWT.

They could have designed both games to integrate - instead of designing models twice, they could have re-used the MWO models in MWT. And not just assets, features; for example a shared mechbay between two games. Buy a mech once and use it in both games, cross promotional events that made you log into both games to get the max tier reward, etc...

Two Different studios... Would you like rewards in WoW, for logging into WildStar too? If MWT was a PGI project, then that's a feasible idea..but, with it being a different studio(s)', it loses some of the feasibility.

MWT was actually a pretty good idea (turn-based CBT browser game for the casual market); it just had a miserable implementation.

it's been dead for nearly a month now, shame I just bought a founders pack (in my ignorance). Wonder who to contact to complain as they still took my money knowing there was no support for the game?
