Most of you seem to be aware, many aren't. Besides having html and webcode from MWO re-used by IGP; PGI is and was not involved in the development or funding of MechWarrior Tactics.

Yeah... that was a huge mistake. So much more aside from just html and webcode could have been shared between the projects. Concept art, UI design, lore, copy, etc...

MWO and MWT should have been the exact same until you hit launch.

Also MWT should have been mech commander online, not some basterdized hybrid classic battletech.

A complete disappointment. I think I'm into MWT for 200 bucks. What a waste of money. Thank god it's a trivial amount.

I'm getting tired of funding these development projects and getting nothing. It seems Star Citizen is the only worthwhile project anymore. And really, A Universe To Explore?? Oh brother, let's fire up new projects while the existing projects stagnate into nothingness.

One of these days they're gonna make vaporware illegal.

Not to be biased, but SC is also quite a long way off (and I'm glad they got only 30$ from me).
Best thing is to stay away from founders programs for as long as possible, at least that is what I learned from this disaster.

because nothing screams 'casual market' more then classic battletech.

Honestly... there's a lot of people who grew up with it in the eighties and nineties who don't have time to commit to competitive league play or raids; the beauty of a turn-based board game is you can take a break and not be out anything, so long as teh cat stays off the table.

Seems like IGP wanna run away with the money they earned so far ^^
It's always a bad sign if a game changes the developer studio (like MWT 1 year ago)...

MWT is a game I'm really really glad I didn't buy into before getting a closed beta invite, and when I finally did play it wasn't anything I wanted to stick around for. Browser games can bite my shiny metal ass.

How many games from Indie Companies and such, do you think would be online today, if everyone thought this way? Not all are out to rob people.

What I can't understand is how people think that these 2 companies aren't both affiliated. Open a new tab and have a look at the bottom of the page.

Just throwing it out there.

This fraud has damaged the reputation of IGP.

They should really think about a refund - even if it is just some MechCredits in MWO.

That would be a token of goodwill, which is something that is badly needed if they want to do any future business with us.

I would be happy with even something like this, at least I wouldn't feel like I was totally ripped off. Although still disappointed to see MWT fail.

Not to mention that this method, wouldn't cost them anything but a bit of research and time.

IGP have two title on their web site, MWO and MWT.

I believe PGI now have the sole rights to MWO and IGP are no longer involved at all?

MWT is dead as a dodo.

I am guessing IGP will soon be closing their doors. If anyone has any money in MWT I would be trying for a charge back asap.

I did some investigations in their team profile in LinkedIn. 8 of 20 public persons of IGP left company - including past InfoComm manager, Web Developer, Web Designer, QA manager, PR manager, Product Director, Game Masters and - TADA! - Senior Infrastructure Architect.

Looks like we have a rotten fish, guys. Game over.

Hmmmm ... wonder if any of those people who left IGP are now working on Transverse?

And they just left with your money. Hard invested or worked for money.

I really wonder what happens now?

Same thing happened with Star Trek Online, 3 months later a new dev company, brought everything back right down to the last credit. So I will give it 3 months, if nothing is brought back, or reimbursed, the better business bureau and ecommerce will shut them down with enough complaints. With my brother connected to 13 million people on linkedin, it wont be hard to do (including people like chris roberts and sid meier)
Things would get very nasty over a few dollars but companies like EA should be shut down entirely and I hope disney is the one to do them in!
Care about your customers because repeat business will be your best business ;)

That's now how the BBB works. The only entity that's going to take out a corporation is the FTC or Attorney General. Since IGP is Canadian and without any US offices, it would be up to the Canadian equivalent to level charges and investigate allegations of fraud.

The BBB is a "do-it-yourself" review site that only exists because merchants actually pay to become members. It has no legal authority whatsoever. Generally, a poor rating on the BBB means absolutely nothing unless someone checks it before buying. Very few people bother to do that.

No clue what you mean by ecommerce, as that's what doing business online is called. I'm not familiar with any entity with that specific name. Even so, there would be no government agency called "ecommerce".

As a founder I originally felt like an investor, a calculated risk. However you really aren't an investor, you reap no benefit from your investment, you simply incur risk. I believe this is an inherent problem with self-promoted crowd-funding, You literally have no governance or recourse like you would going through a dedicated crowd-funding site like kickstarter (other than pursuing legal recovery, and only then if IGP has enough money for a lawyer to bite).

For me it was a $100 lesson learned. I lucked out on MWO, and was able to get my money's worth, but MWT has definitely made me much more wary regarding early access games.

I sent an E-Mail to IGP requesting information on development and/or a refund. If anyone gets a response back please post.

Has anyone received a response from IGP yet? At the rates it's going there might be a lawsuit soon.

Hmm, I'm none too pleased. I bought into the founders (thankfully at a low level), and actually thought that it was kinda fun or would be if it worked right. When the Family Guy Online Game was canceled, they refunded all of their customers real-world money. This would be the "right" thing for IGP to do. If they have been taking money now, without the intention of actually providing a product or service, then that is fraud.

I could probably stomach the loss of $50, if they were at least honest and open about what was going on. As is....grrr!
