Hey there, guys and devs!

I do play this game for a while now and pretty much know every spawnpoint and every map-location.
But that´s not the reason i started this topic.
I think it is one of the easiest things to do (and a lot of players will love it) if you would implement a coordiante-grid with lancespawns for easier coordination and tacticswaps on startup (like in http://mwo.smurfy-ne...rcity&m=assault)

I prefer to know, where my assaults are spawning, as the slowest group of mechs, so i can adapt the tactic in early game just based on the fact, where the assaults can be at which time.

It would be nice if you could switch mechs between lances (as Commander), and that would affect their spawnlocation, too... but that might be too much to ask for.

What do you think about this change? Feel free to post!

Hope to kill you on the battlefields soon

Greetings,

As you have played awhile and know the spawn locations, they are linked to the Lance locations in our drop window.

The A lance always forms on the left, B the center and C the right. Depending where the Assaults are placed that is where they will drop.
- It would be nice to have a highlighted point(s) on the small map in the lower right indicating where the A, B, C lances are dropping. This would only be visible during the start map showing all the Pilots and your Mech's but it should solve the issue of where each Lance is at.

Note: that blue map is only a 'called' image and not interactive, so some code work would need to be done to show the A/B/C locations on it. Depending also on which side you start.

I think the map display at startup could really use some improvements. Maybe the correct rotation of the map for your team ( like you always spawn on the bottom edge of the map that is displayed for you ).

It would be nice, at least, to have cardinal directions or just a "Noth" indicator on the minimap to allow movement directions to be done more easily. Sometimes, especially on large maps, it is difficult to determine the grid number or even if, some other player further away may have trouble knowing where to go.

I dont know why there should be much codework to do.
There only have to be 2 images wich show the Gridoverlay and "A/B/C" lancespawns for both teams (blue/red).
It is like 5 lines of code showing 1 of the 2 images to the right team.
That is more of a cosmetic thing wich could be done in 5 minutes on my own; That is just changing out pictures.
The only change which would require a little coding would be the changeable spawnlocations during the 1 minute waittime (wich would still be still very nice).

Greetings all,

While in the match assembly screen there is sometimes a bit of a glitch when spawning.
- I have seen many times in the past for a second I'm on one side of the map and as my Mech finally drops to the ground I'm on the other side of the map. (sometimes even a brief glimpse of the enemy Lance mechs, just for a second)

Hopefully that would not interfere with showing the map spawn locations in the match assembly screen.
- At what point in that screen is it decided where each side will spawn?
- This would effect or possibly delay the start by a few seconds as the decision needs to be applied immediately at the assembly screen, and not at the in-game start. (one the UI the other the game)

In my opinion the best solution would be:

Pregamestart:

- UI: Showing Teams and lances, Battlemap with grid and chat,

while the lances can be adjusted by the commander

- game: Top-down-view of the battlefield

On GameStart:

- Top-down-view changes to normal vision of own mech

- Battlemechs start in the chosen lance
