So crossfire and sli are now enabled. Hurray, it only took 3 years. Well, why is my framerate still complete crap when playing at 7990x1440? I already did a full repair of the game and am still getting framerates that are just not acceptable when running 3 of the strongest video cards on the market right now. I know it's not my rig because I can play Crysis 3 and every other game on the market with max frames at max settings.

Little help here?

Yep,
Been there for 4 months now. Have to run it in dx9 and low settings to get decent performance http://mwomercs.com/...mproved-my-fps/

AMD has said to wait for game and driver updates.

Welp, good to know. No reason to play anyway as I'm not giving them more money to try out the new mechs. Guess I'll check back when clan mechs are available for cbills

Try using just 1 card?....

I doubt Xfire and SLI are properly optimized, a perfect situation where throwing money to get the best is not the solution. Tbh a lot of games would never utilize the power of 3 cards.

This can be fixed with user.cfg adjustments.

Greetings all,

Even though the last patch stated that SLI was enabled, 'IT's NOT'.

- There was some confusion between the Engineers stating that the SLI code for MWO was ready and having the actual Nvidia drivers updated, and actually placing that code into the game.

See here:
From Matthew Craig: (Technical Director)
- Sorry this was a mis-communication the internal changelist noted that SLI support had been fixed and QA picked up on it and added it to the patch notes and we missed pulling it out. It was work to fix up any inter frame dependencies that were slowing down SLI, the driver profiles have not been updated yet.
You're welcome to try it out for now by creating your own custom profile for MWO; however, please note that SLI will only improve your framerate in situations where you are gpu bound, right now this is fairly rare for MWO unless you are running triple monitor, very high resolution etc.
- I can't give you an exact time frame (when it will be 'implemented') as it is dependent on us getting a firm date from Nvidia, we are hoping to have one in place soon.

So, no SLI yet and waiting for Nvidia.

Crossfire will not improve your frames, neither will SLI, as you're already running one high end video card. You are CPU bound, not GPU bound. Go into the testing grounds, disable V-Sync, and watch your frames jump to insane levels. I get 300fps easily running everything on max plus SweetFX. Also monitor your GPU usage, they will go to 100% in the testing grounds. While in-game in a match you will see them being barely used. I get about 25% usage myself. Even with the highest end CPU out right now by Intel, don't expect to run 100fps constantly while in an actual match. It's a shame, this game looks beautiful at 120fps and 120hz.

Borderlands 2 app profile, damage glow and vsync off, very high for everything but shadows, all 3 cards at ~90%, with multigpu enabled in the cfg files. It's scaling to multiple cards just fine, but for some reason hits to the cockpit drop fps below 30....

In-game with all 3 cards crankin and my cpu at 4.8ghz I'm getting ~190fps with sweetfx. Well over 250 in testing grounds. FPS doesn't actually go up much if I set it to low, and it's just not worth it :P

I lose about 30-40fps when streaming 1080p/60fps. Turning off crossfirex drops FPS way down, so it's doing *something*, but it's a PITA and sometimes crossfirex won't work until I reinstall the drivers. Also, for some reason, lots of dudes are running full window, which I think won't let crossfire do it's thing.

I run a single 1080p monitor with a 290X and max everything out no worries...try disabling damage glow? For some reason it trips up AMD cards...

For additional info, I'm running triple 1440 monitors so I am -not- cpu bound by any means. Running an i7 4770k at 4.7k. 3x290x on water. Watching afterburner the main card is running 100% but the 2nd and third cards both hover around 50% usage.
Full window and fullscreen both seem to enable crossfire, but I'm just not getting near the performance I should from 3 top end cards. I'll try adjusting some of the settings suggested here and see if that brings my frames up.

im running 5760x1080 with one 290x and stable at 50fps with just a couple things turned down. not sure exactrly what that means for you but perhaps you need to create a special profile based off a different cryengine game to get i tto work.
