this will update your inbox with conversations pertaining to this page. it is a much easier way to keep track of it without having to manually look for it.
i only point this out because there are only 4 people currently following it and it's a simple system to use that kind of works

1) 1 point for Loss and 0 points for a Tie? I'm guessing this was a typo. Surely it should be 1 point for a Tie and 0 points for a loss ...
2) Game Mode: Any? for a 4-v-4? Assault seems kind of harsh for any single lance trying to attack a base. Conquest seems like it would be a huge yawn or hugely favourable with lances with mostly fast mechs. Why not a straight forward skirmish?
3) Map, any: ... Alpine Peaks ... oh yeah ...

This was decided prior to last Fridays meeting. We decided to alter the tie to be 0 points to prevent static gameplay to force a draw. We felt it better to have tried and lost than to simply wait out the timer.
In the case that a side decides to base sit, we were going to enforce a no base sitting rule for the first ten minutes, but the consensus was that teams would play fairly and wouldn't rely on that tactic unduly.
As for the map, the scout is going to have their work cut out for them if you get that map.

Game 1 map = Alpine
Game 2 map = River City
Game 3 map = canyon
Round 2 = Conquest
Game 1 map = Alpine
Game 2 map = River City
Game 3 map = canyon
Round 3 = skirmish
Game 1 map = Cimson
Game 2 map = tourmaline
Game 3 map = ECT ECT
ECT ECT
This way we can plan our drops and mechs load outs before the game ?
Pick the Game type per round and then Game map per game ?

We're using Season 1 to try stuff that mostly isn't done in other existing competitive events. Admittedly, some of this may not be done for very good reasons but let's give it a try and refine it for next season.
Also, we were reluctant to increase the barriers to entry to the HPL by adding a requirement that the teams have premium users or someone with premium on standby to help launch matches. Some players did step up to offer assistance with this during the Open Meeting but it remains to be seen how this will work out in practice as matches will likely take place at varying times.

I'd love to see the matches being streamed to raise awareness that there is a competitive group of players other than US but at the same time this also introduces screen watchers gaining free intel so for that reason I'd have to say no unfortunately.

I'm sure that Jay Z wouldn't not have a problem adjusting the delay by whatever amount both parties find acceptable.
Note to self: Include delay requirement in rule set for next event *smacks head*

We needed to break up the teams in groups of 3 to avoid having Season 1 run for 3 months or so.
Just for clarity, I used a random generator to assign a number between 1 - 100 to each team and then grouped teams using 1st, 4th & 7th for Group 1; 2nd, 5th & 8th for Group 2; etc to further randomize it.
Only manual adjustment was to make sure all teams would be assigned exactly 3 blue / red team spawns throughout the initial round.
@ShinVector - thank you for expressing your interest. We do plan to have other events and further HPL Seasons as long as enough people want them.
Stay tuned.

If there is a considerable delay of 5 minutes or more I'm happy for that, similar to league of legends spectating having a 3m delay.
