I would love to see maps with better defensive positions. Like firing ports.

Id like to see a revival of the NetMech maps, especially Spire of Destiny, La Grave (Steal the Plans) and Yamarokov (I think it was Yamarokov that was the rolling dunes that had spots that had land mines or was Yamarokov the one with the trees that had metal content that affected sensors?)

Erm to what i understand, forest (swamp map) will be the last map with its own assets. After its relase, PGI will start releasing maps with already existant map assets without creating new ones, for at least half a year.

Im afraid no metropolis giant city, no freaky aztec statues or Enginer statues from Prometheus. Aside of the first, pretty much all of them are gay and unfitting into BT universe. Im not really aware of existence of alien spieces in BT universe anyway...

Greetings all,

Reference additional ideas for maps and some slight changes to maps we currently have.

Suggestion that the current mining platforms cause or interfere with some sensors.
~ they are already digging and causing intense seismic echo's, have them saturate the Mech's seismic sensors to the point it will not function within quite a distance.
~ the electrical charge we see on these same platforms should cause some issues or problems with the Mech's sensor pack, have this element produce static on the Mech's HUD, again within a set distance.

On that same topic, introduce objects or effects on some of the maps that interfere with targeting and standard sensors.
(we have the weather storms that roll in but these cause no loss of targeting, only sight)

- Wither it's global atmospheric, location specific or mechanically produced. It can be a random event that is either present for the duration of the mission or passing anomaly. (say EM burst from local star or passing orbital wreckage)
~ this could cause loss or reduction of targeting systems and there communication dependency.
~ LRM's and Streaks would be effected during this event, information on targets would be unavailable.

Notice I only stated 'standard' sensors, if the Mech has upgraded to the narrow beam and tight band laser type comms, some of these systems may be now usable. May be, depending on the type of sensor deprivation.
- Additionally, the new map, Mech/Industrial Factory is a great opportunity for PGI to bring in location specific interference from some of the buildings or activities on this map. Certain locations reducing most sensors attempts to locate, identify, or possibly even IFF issues. (disruption so bad that friendly/enemy IFF is unusable near some buildings. That would be interesting!)

Now if some of these ideas were to make it into the match game, a what point do the Pilots know these events will be present?
- Do we get a warning on the drop screen team board? ('System Alert'- incoming EM Solar Flare)
- Do we suddenly see the HUD static appear as the Mech starts up? (I think it should be a surprise.)

Some of our current maps have quite a few items, objects, and areas that could be 'altered/enhanced/animated'.
HPG map is one example of many things that could have additional systems active within it's current art work.
- The landing platforms could be set to 'open and raise' randomly.
- The lower area has what appears to be closing doors a every entrance? Could these be activated as a Mech approaches?
- The description of the map identifies that this facility has complete fueling, repair, an reload bays present, where are they?

Just some ideas for maps we have now. They are already built, so adding function should reduce any introduction time.

A lot of this stems from the 'Planetary Warfare' aspect we have yet to see. Giving some Factions/Merc's the ability to build up the locations defences or structures.
