So I have mastered Jagermechs.. I love them. I also love PPC's and lasers.

I am thinking of getting some new mechs in this sale - I was thinking of a mech that can do PPC's and LL's well. Stalker 3F, or Maybe Catapult K2.

Are there any other mechs in this sale that meet that criteria better?

catapults are decent mechs i think. though i also like them because they are a classic to me from previous games.

also the jester fits your criteria. it would be similiar to the K2. Could wait for the day the jester goes on sale if you are interested in picking up another hero. that might actually be today.

The K2 is still all around a very solid mech, especially if you want to run a XL engine, since the Cats have much slimmer side torsos from the front than the other Heavy mechs. You will then need two more Catapults to finish the skills tree, though, and the rest of the chassis variants are not on sale this week.

The Awesome has beneficial quirks giving it better cooling and less heat when using energy weapons, and can be built to run pretty fast and cool.

Lots of people run Victors with a cluster of ACs and dual PPCs, and with a big engine they run more like a Heavy.

The K2 does good for its weight with LLs and PPCs, and its relatively XL friendly. I've not used it, but its generally reviewed favourably, and sounds like its something you'd be quite content with.

The Awesomes have recently received a buff in the form of quirks, including buffing up its CT and giving it a heat management bonuses, making a chassis that is still admittedly rather hard to use, but more viable than previously with PPCs and LLs. My 8Q, running with either with 4 ERLLs or 3 PPCs, is quite cool since Eliting it. You won't find a better long range PPC platform in the Assault class without looking towards the Clan mechs, though as mentioned by the poster before me, the Victor has a few odd combos.

While they're not on sale, the Blackjacks might be worth keeping an eye on if you want something like this in the future, especially the 1X (8 energy hardpoints, max engine size 295).

The Stalker runs big energy very well and has favorable hitboxes and high mounts.

I bought a 5M and a second 3F last weekend on sale to supplement my collection. :)

How are thunderbolts?

I am looking at some heavys, as Im not sure I want an assault just yet.

I would like something able to brawl, but good at mid ranges as well.

Or Orions? Any good for that?

Thunderbolts are shockingly, appallingly, stunningly, unbelievably...ok. They don't excel at anything really, but with a STD engine, they tank pretty well and can do some harm.

My feeling is Orions are the same thing ten tons heavier, but I haven't mastered them, so can't say for sure.

My baseline test for a chassis is "do I fear it when I see it face to face" and both of those chassis fail that test.

I have a Thunderbolt and generally I find them a bit awkward; hardpoints in weird places and few attributes that stand out as recommendation. I run it with 2 PPCs mounted in really nice high cockpit-level RT hardpoints with 3 MLAS and 2 MGs for backup, which is basically the same as a K2 but with one extra Mlas. I got a freebie Thunderbolt from an event and didn't bother to buy two more.

I have three Orions. don't run my Orions for tankiness because I play with an XL most of the time, with my Protector running an AC10, PPC, and two large lasers with a big XL. I dabbled with an AC20 based standard brawly Orion and it's not bad but not my cup of tea.

3F is the best to start with unless youre going for a pure missile boat, has far superior torso twist to the others while having sLightly fewer hardpoints & tubes.

My favorite 3F build is 2 LL, 4 MLAS, 4 SSRM+BAP, but lots of people also run PPCs, stacks of SRMs4, etc.

3F. Hands down. It's the best and most flexible (all about the torso twist). The 3H, 5M and 5S all have things to recommend them (most as LRM boats, though my new 5M is a 5LL build). And Misery is great. Skip the 4N, it is literally a 3F missing one hardpoint and 25 degrees of torso twist.
