And you don't try to out dakka the Dire Whale...you out-manuever it and kill it in the back (your bad builds notwithstanding). A light mech is a Whale's worst nightmare...a medium can do the same thing, just kill it faster. Really, anything going 64+ can do it. There is a reason it is called a whale...

And I got

Let's take a dire wolf:a variant can take two UAC5 and eight large lasers, another one can take four UAC2 and as many lasers. Now, list me IS mechs that can be equipped with as mch fire output.

Most clan mechs have a higher Alpha (Some Summoner, Nova, Adder builds are on par with IS) but longer burn times, non Pin point A/C's and usually higher recycle times, Also a higher Alpha means more heat.

So the TRADEOFF is a 40 pt alpha you can fire twice as much vs a 80 pt you can only half as much....

Doesn't seem op.....

Er... IS 'mechs have neurohelmets, just as the Clan 'mechs do.

Neurohelmets were a Star League invention, and is present on ALL 'mechs - in fact, you can't really pilot one without a Neurohelmet:

The correct reasoning for the mode is to simulate the regular House battles that still occurred in the Inner Sphere after the arrival of the Clans. Conversely, there should be a no IS mode where Clan can battle Clan - another obvious historical reality in the BTU.

This will all come. 9erRed said it best on the last page. There is no reason to ask for it under the guise of "the clan mechs are too op".

They should have
12 v 12 IS-only mode (House vs House or House vs Merc or Merc vs Merc)
12 v 10 IS vs Clan
10 v 10 Clan vs Clan

I'd also love to see smaller battles; 4 v 4 and 8 v 8 IS-only, 8 v 5 IS vs clan, 5 v 5 Clan-only, and so on. Not every battle needs to be a full company/binary battling it out with another full company or binary.

But as you say, that's something that'll hopefully come with CW, whenever that arrives.

A Jagermech JM6-S comes with 2xAC2, 2xAC5, and 2xML's. I can tell you it's a devastating mech, and is the mech i use when i want an easy game. I went 1 v. 2 with TBR's last week and beat them both easily. You could say that they were just bad pilots but if so does that mean everyone who loses to a TBR was facing a good pilot, and if so it's not the mech that is OP?

Oh and btw, AC's are extremely OP when brawling due to high dps and low heat.

Like Stock Mech mode, I'd definitely support Clan only/IS only tech modes for private matches.

I would be for it OP. I miss those old games where it was all IS mechs. Unfortunately i don't believe this game has enough players to be able to support anymore separation. Your best bet really is private matches, it is a pain to get enough people but possibly make a thread in one of the sub forums to recruit people for it.

I have all the clan mechs, i don't believe they are op but they are significantly more powerful than their IS counterparts. The nerds have helped even though the clan large laser duration was a bit too long
