Haven't played in about a year. With the renewed promise (hah!) of CW, I figured I would check it out again....and whoever designed UI 2.0 should be hung up by the small hairs of his nose and never allowed near a computer again. It's virtually unusable.
Why not take the concept from Smurfy's or the Goon one (name escapes me), instead of cluttering the layout with huge, nearly identitcal icons and tiny text.
What a mess....but hey, at least there's P2W clanmechs....

For every person who says Clan mechs are P2Win there's someone else saying they aren't. Can't please everyone, and more balance changes have already been announced.

They did say an interactive full-layout (ie smurfy-like) mechlab was coming when they added the non-interactive mech details" page but that was a long time ago and no further statements have been made recently.

You get used to it after a while.

Ya I've been playing since closed beta and clan mechs are not P2W. I think the game has come a LONG way. Overall I am very happy with it. Everyone has an opinion they're entitled to but I think they did a great job implementing them.

UI2.0 - Yeah, it isn't great. But you adapt. I can understand coming into it cold and freaking out but really I fly around it now with little trouble. I'm ready for the smurfy layout though.

Clan mechs - Clan Lasers are OP, Clan XL engines are OP, Clan UACs and LRMs are not ever remotely OP. Generally a little OP? Sure. In P2W territory? No.

Too bad you left when things got rough, cause for those that stuck it out, while UI 2.0 can do with some changes, it's really not that bad now. The view which allows you to see your whole mech was nice and hopefully they'll get to a stage where they can have it so you can edit in that mode

Clans are being released for MCs and Cbills. Get over it. People have already said it and have been more witty than you about it.

Welcome back. Please leave your dripping snootiness at the door.

But seriously...how can they go from a crappy, but sorta functional UI, to a mostly uselss one?. Especially considering the *months* they spent on it?.
And as for their promises on a a Smurfy like one, well, we were supposed to get CW over a year ago....

Oh, you mean the UI that took up to 5 minutes to load in my 'Mechs every login AND after every match, required me to click a precise location on the hitbox of a 'Mech in order to change locations so i could modify its loadout (and would frequently end up on the rear side of a Torso), required me to click drag and drop to modify loadouts, could not be fullscreened, took forever just to switch between the Loadout/Camo/Upgrade tab and finally, required me to scroll back and forth along a small strip at the bottom of the window containing my 'mechs in order of purchase with no way to re-organize them?

Yeah, rose colored glasses are amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

The lack of re-organizing mechs was a pain, for sure, but the rest I don't agree with.
Since I often referred to my Smurfy layouts, I didn't want the mechlab to be fullscreen. Now it is and it's even harder to see what's what.
Its a big step backwards and I really don't understand how they could end up with this.

Never had any of those problems myself. Most of that I never heard any complaints about really...

Oh and you still can't re-organize your mechs and now you've got trials stuck in between.

So ... Change it to window mode and problem solved? Or invest in a second screen? Jeez.

Change! So scary!

No, i cannot personally place a given 'mech exactly where i want it in the window.
But i can sort by Weight Class and the Variants are all lined up nicely right next to each other.

I'm perfectly capable of ignoring the yellow buttons in my list. Thus the appearance of the Trial 'mechs does not bother me at all.

So change it to window mode for the mechlab and then to fullscreen for playing? Really?
Or spend $300 to make up for what has been proven by others to easily fit inside a basic web browser? (Not to mention that I really don't have the desktop real-estate to do so).

Change is often good. This is the bad kind of change.

So quit until they patch in the smurfy style build option.
Not that I'll ever understand why people like that site.

I can strip down and rebuild a 'mech in around a minute in UI2.0, so instead of pissing and moaning about an old crappy UI that required patching and downtime for as little as a weekend sale, you can simply learn to use the new UI that isn't going anywhere.

You people will whine and cry about *anything*.

Which Mechlab are you using?

In all likely hood they did not write new UI 2.0 they nicked it or bought it from somewhere else.

No one with any common sence would have designed the layout we have at the moment, unless 1. was designed for console market version of MWO or 2. they are using someone else's program and making changes onthe fly.
