I am afraid this has been a fairly poor decision to promote this new product here, it is at best naive and at worst a true slap in the face to the people such as myself that have pumped revenue into a product that is not yet finished.
I can understand your desire to generate interest from as many avenues as possible and from a business sense, I can understand that it is possible to have more than one project being developed simultaneously. It is even understandable how it is possible to share assets without impacting negatively on either projects development time.
I can't understand how you would not expect a rage filled reaction from the community at large, since more than a few of your development decisions for this game have produced page upon page of negative feedback, alienated many of your original playerbase and cause quite a few people I knew from Closed Beta to simply pack up and uninstall. I fully understand that once the money is in your coffers it is yours to do with as you please but I do not understand why you would think it is a good advertisement to direct potential founders/players to look at an unfinished product and expect them to get involved with a new one.
Some will be able to list each and every poor development decision and many will be able to provide quotes from the development team to back them up, however I can fully understand that "hoping" to be able to do something does not always allow for the reality of what can "actually" be done. So I have never been one to completely lose hope that this product will eventually reach a fully fleshed out and immersive 'Mech combat simulator, with a vibrant and fulfilling Community Warfare.
I have signed up to the new website and will wait to see what it brings but I can guarantee I will not spend another penny on this or any other product that your development team are involved with until CW is delivered and proven to a viable addition to the game and not simply a shallow deathmatch ladder league.
It is possible you may prove us wrong and this is actually a finished product and you are doing a J.J Abrams on us. If so kudos, if not, hmmmmm.......

Ugh... no. Horrible idea. Why do people keep promoting this??
Maybe because it is not a horrible idea?
Besides, if this was a AeroTech game, with AeroSpace fighters and WarShips, it would have been even more interesting than Star Citizen for me..
But i think that if they have ever been BT fans, they are starting to hate it for all the headaches it is giving them

wouldn't it be cool if this was the case (which it isn't). PGI extending a franchise they are dedicated to into other game genres? Instead, they appear to be preparing to abandon said franchise.

The only thing I will be doing is tell everyone on that new forum how you behaved throughout the last two years of MWO "developement".

PGI had nothing to do with MWT. And apparently MWO is successful enough that it's helping them grow the company.

- 1. No one is asking you to.
- 2. MWO, regardless of what you want to say, was a huge success. It was an MechWarrior MMO, it wasn't developed by a huge company like Microsoft but still has a lot of content relative to the size of the funds they receive, and it is free to play.

But do you not think it kinda proves that PGI ain't a sinking ship? If they can afford to make a second game... >.>

It wouldn't be too bad if some company that slightly cared about Mechwarrior took the reins.

I'm not worried about PGI being a sinking ship. I'm worried about MW:O being a sinking ship.

Yeah right. This is their money maker. Even if their development license expires they'll run the servers for a while and keep the community online. Heck, they may allow community created content after that (for a fee obviously)

But hey. Good luck getting an even bigger project on it's feet while struggling to make MWO what it was supposed to be ...
