Hi. I'm a 'mature age' total noob with this game. I am curious if anyone has created an Xpadder profile for running a xbox controller for the game?

I run PS3 controller via program BetterDS3. It emulates xbox controller. Works good but not perfect.

But ive seen xpadder profiles for MWO somewhere online. Did you try doing a google search?

I read somewhere on the forum that if you cant use the genuine Xbox controller, it is recognised by the game ,therefore wants to use the default xbox controller settings ( which are inadequate),dominating what the Xpadder is programmed to do . So, it seems a different brand of controller, say a Razer Onza may allow Xpadder functionality. Thanks so much for the replies ,people!

I just connect a Snakebytez PS3 controller. 20 bucks at Wallyworld. Instantly recognized. Though you can use actual controllers designed for the PC that have the Xbox 360 controller look and shape.

No software needed on my end.

Maybe i am missing something, but it appears there are no possibilities for customising keyboard layout or xbox controller button assignments. Using the Xbox controller, there seems to be simply a lack of button assignments,ie: "F" for centering legs, let alone hotkeying weapons to buttons, thus my foray into creating a Xpadder profile, but the obstacle remains i cant stop the game recognising i am using a genuine Xbox controller, thereby it switches to the generic" in game" Xbox controller settings. I am wondering if i accept that i cant modify the existing "in game" settings, but still augment the Xbox controller buttons that aren't being used with Xpadder.I wish there was more discussion on the Xpadder forums about MWO, to help in this matter

I run with an xbox 360 controller knock off I got from Walmart. There are certain buttons that the game assigns functionality to that can't be overridden. However you can set up the controller buttons as alt keys in the keyboard setting, however the left stick is currently broken as it will steer the mech but instantly causes the speed to be reset to zero. You can put turning on the dpad though but you will find that it takes some getting used to.
