ok.. so this:
Battlemaster 1G
Is my current Battlemaster. I want to keep the LBX-10 and AC2 combo, as well as at least 1 of the flamers (people can say what they want about them, they ARE usefull). But im slightly at a loss as to what to put in the other slots. Sofar the ERPPC is usefull, but a bit of a learning curve with the new slow speed of them.
I could swap the SRM out for a single LRM rack, but i'd want to use artimus if i did that as i hardly ever 'volley fire' missles on any of my mech's.
For the energy slots in the torso, besides the single or double flamers, i honestly dont know what to put there.
Any thoughts/tips?

Thoughts On A Battlemaster 1G Build?

Shift the ERPPC to the RT high mount. A single one on the BLR in the high position can be fired almost non-stop for ranged sniping. Shift 1 Flamer to the RA, there is much more utility with it in the arm, and lose the second one (too bad we can't fit both in the arm). Reduce leg armor to 57 - max is not necessary. Drop 1 HS. Add 1 MLAS to the RT and 2 of them to the LT.
Trigger 1: ERPPC (sniping and ECM disrupton)
Trigger 2: Both autocannons (crit-seeking and fire suppression, use separate triggers if you prefer)
Trigger 3: SRM-6 (crit-seeking)
Trigger 4: 5 MLAS (general damage)
If you wish to reduce heat a bit and if you are often an in-the-face brawler, replace the MLAS with SPLAS for a nearly-AC/20-sized hit that can be repeated at a fast rate.

Everything Elyam said, but I'd say at the very least, drop the leg armor to 65. Still armored up, but will free up a full half-ton.
I'd say drop a Flamer, move the ERPPC to the upper right arm, and use the 1.5 tons to toss in an AMS.

Well i always wanted my own Battlemaster totaly love the looks. So thanks to group challenge rewards and house sale i bought the 1G version. But i simply cant make it work. I saw players with 600+ dmg/match but i somehow cant surpas that with my lowly 400 points (well its 300 in most games). So there is quite huge possibility that i simply sux thanks to the fact that this is my first assault and to this day i piloted HBK, SHD, GRF, TDR, TBR.
Also... i cant understand why players in solo drop simply abbandon their assaults and run like mad to crater/antena.
What i tried is:

Second build might look too hot but in reality it isnt. LRM for support without LOS, ER LRG and UAC5 for long range with LOS and mediums with UAC5 for close combat. Dont know if XL engine on BLR is a good thing so i prefer STD.

Without changing your weapons or ammo at all you could add endo steel and swap to a 350XL (you'd have to juggle heat sinks in and out during the upgrade process, but total number would remain the same).
I don't consider the 1G's single missile hardpoint as all that useful, I usually forgo it. Also, since the arm hardpoints are somewhat low, I recommend against put PPC in the arms. My first thought is: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...17e88a8a81f6700 Faster and cooler running than your initial build.

Zerandir, I think the big issue you're having is that you are using the standard engine. I highly recommend dropping in a 400XL and going Super-Heavy Skirmisher. Yes, I'm serious. Of my 5 BLRs (waiting for Hellslinger to go on sale), 3 run 400XLs.

The thing about XL's that everyone is terrified of, is that if you lose a ST, your dead (at least in an IS mech). But then again... in most IS mech's, if you lose a ST, you have lost 50% - 75% of your weapons, and you'll likely be 'fully dead' rather soon anyway.
What XL's give you is two-fold.
1) Extra tonnage that you can put towards more heat-sinks, or heavier/more weapons.
2) A bit more of a challenging/fun experience in playing as you tend to start to pay more attention to which side of your mech your taking fire from, which side your showing your enemies. You end up learning how to 'peek' around cover more, and 'use' cover more for that matter.

Ok, thanks for advices guys. Guess i will start to save for huuuuge XL engine.
I totaly understand all the thoughts behind XL's. I was even thinking in the same way about them (that i loose 50-75% of weapons with ST gone). So i will give it a try
Worst case scenario... i will have huge XL for future uses
I definitely want to make my BLR work... totaly love look of the mech!
