Best I've done was 7 kills. I simply got behind guys and took out their center torsos. Most of them were busy dealing with whatever was in front of them, or just ignoring me. A few required a bit more work. I have to admit that I'm not 100% sure it was a Locust I was in, could have been a Commando. Was a few weeks ago.

Sure a single alpha can take me out (it happens), but they have to hit me first.

I would love a slightly faster more maneuverable Locust, even with a similar weapon loadout to the current choices. Hero me up PGI. :)

I'm not sure it's possible to make an OP Locust anyway. They will always require a lot more luck and skill to pilot than any other mech.



And ya, swarms are a blast. Only been in a few PUG swarms in the year I've been playing, but we kicked butt. The guys I regularly hang with are more into Heavies an up. And the Clan lights lack the speed to keep up....The Flee might be interesting, we'll see....assuming they put one out.

I remember double-teaming a Jager-sniper with another Commando on Alpine back before the clan release. It was hilarious fun.

Oh lord, Give me Jumpjets.

After playing a Jenner again after so long, I recall why I love them so. I'll take two ballistics and Two Energy with JJs. Side Torso mount the Machine guns.

I would like to interject about the whole ECM on a hero thing.
First, it isn't P2W, and they already technically do It right now.
Currently for MC we've had Kit Fox, and now Hellbringer.
Yeah they will have C-Bill Variants eventually, but they are still as it stands cash purchased Mechs with ECM.

So I say, give the locust its ECM Hero.

True my kitfox prime invasion variant runs ecm and 3ams and it gets its "hero" cash bonus.

Plus anyone that would scream "hero locust with ecm is OP" will look so much more crazier than any of us locust fanatics ever could.

Almost took down a timber wolf today in a jenner-D with 4 SLs.... sadly he got smart when I needed one more alpha to the rear CT.

not sure ECM would really make the locust any better, just makes it harder to get LRM'd and you can already sort of avoid that with radar derp.

i've been seeing this more and more though lately, especially multiple ECM lights running around together making it impossible to target them. Had a dual Ravel 3L + Commando on frozen city the other day and it was brutal.

I had an awesome match on HPG with 3 Loci on our side. If for nothing else they distract the team so much that over half my kills in the BJ were through rear armor.

Its the lightest mech in the game, so speed and maneuverability are what it needs to survive, hence those are what I'd definitely want in a Hero Locust.

It's due to the speed cap in game.

Due to the formula of engine ratings to tonnage equal bla bla speed. the Commando could go sliiiiiiiiiighty higher without hitting the max cap.

They are planning to raise the cap and you will get faster locusts but trust me... bigger engine will make the limited weapons more limited... I think MASC will solve the problem when it's finally fixed and ready for public MW: O

i've been seeing this more and more though lately, especially multiple ECM lights running around together making it impossible to target them. Had a dual Ravel 3L + Commando on frozen city the other day and it was brutal.


Maybe some of us should coordinate some drops. Team or sync. If 3/3/3/3 is gone???? there could be some lols.

I think the hero locust should be called "An hero locust".

It has one ballistic slot that clips through its head hitbox so it literally shoots itself in the head if it fires.

The hero locust should have a single non-removable jumpjet, located in the head, that only thrusts it down instead of up.

That way, you stick to the ground very well, and you can run down cliffs FASTER!!
