It's going to get the tipping point to get over 50%+ of the community to stop playing IMO
I see new players coming in all the time. So I dont think that scenario is coming soon.
Seems like with whats coming and past events, this game as seen a growth in players. At least from what I have seen. Also the sheer amount of champion mechs I am always seeing in the solo que.
Keep in mind I dont see them every game but I see new players who often enough.

I've already cleared my schedule for the 9th and I've taped my credit card to the monitor.
I heard pgi will only be accepting blank checks

I know I'm making some pretty bold statements. Believe me, I would love to be wrong..
I can only hope I have to eat my words here.

How long do they stick around for though?
What % in your opinion stick around long enough to master a mech?
Particularly ones that had no prior knowledge of Battletech?
People with prior knowledge of battletech are not new as the foundations of this game are the same as previous MW titles.

I see new players coming in too, but somehow they never tend to become old players. That's your problem right there, just like everyone I know that I've introduced the game to gave up on it real fast.

From what I know is new players tend to be enthusiastic about this game more than older players.
I haven't seen any leave from what I have observed. That is just me.

That is interesting. My personal observations have been quite the opposite, i tried 4 different friends, one bought phoenix pack. None of them stuck around long enough to finish elite tree on one mech.

I even got an old player to come back and revisit the game. His name is Metal bacon. He is an older player and does not agree with a lot of my viewpoints about Mechwarrior. He did seem interested in the game mechanics and the new stuff they added and the reworking of the game. The only complaint i heard from him was the same story of CW should have been here.
His name is metal bacon and I know him personally, Hopefully I can get him back. He quit for a while but when he came back I think he enjoyed himself. he sure did a lot better than me in the matches we dropped

I can only disagree with that, if new players would stick around I'd see them again now and then. Back then I used to run into guys often that I recognize, it basically never happens anymore.

Even though these are our personal observations of people behavior keep in mind that they might not be the majority. Keep in mind it could have been their feelings towards the games progress and not the game its self.
A good example is someone can think this is an awesome game but be disheartened by the year delay. Or it could be the opposite they could care less CW got pushed back and be fine with it but think the game is horrible. So its relative to the person but all well within reason I hope.

I base it off of friends like growth and friends list activity. It has bigger and more active than it was years ago. That is just one way, I could do extensive research.
It would take awhile, A months time but I will be limited to just things within my influence.
