The easiest way to team up quickly is download and install TeamSpeak
It's very easy to set up. You just input the address of the server you want to connect to and the password (if applicable) and you're connected to a chat room of like-minded people who need team members to drop with for this event (or any event).
If you're Inner Sphere, below is link to the topic page which shows the ComStar info:

If you are a member of the long lost Star League Defense Force then you will want to head here:
http://mwomercs.com/...eak-hub-server/

I did download teamspeak to try to make some progress in the challenge i spent a while in the Comstar and NGNG LFG channels and didn't have any luck after admittedly only a small amount of time in each like 20 mins per channel. I'm sure if i persisted i would have found something but that isn't really workable when every 2 hours max i would have to AFK for a while and then have to re-find another group that way only to bail on them shortly after again.
If there was a general chat channel it would have been as straightforward as typing "LFG Lance Challenge" and when i had to leave the group it wouldn't piss people off cause replacing me would have been as simple as them writing "LF1M Lance Challenge".

I agree with you!
What I did was rename my TeamSpeak name to, "Needs Lance Challenge Team" and then waited in the 'Needs Group' lounge. Within 5 minutes I was recruited for teams (twice!).
I know how tough it is to be a father and find time to game. Congratulations on your newborns
And good luck in MWO!!

But there also is some ciritcism: With my friendlist showing all offline it really showed me that this game still lacks a global lobby chat in the front end. It would be SO MUCH easier to find a lance for the challenge if you could just drop a message in chat and people could invite you to lance with a right click on your name.
Again: If you make an online game please do not neglect the bare basics just because they might seem oldschool and uncool.

Either send them a message or create a group and start sending out group invites to those people on your friend list who are online and not in a group.

Fantastic. Excellent way to have the community interact with one another. Coming from mainly PUG matches, and finally taking the foray into the group queue, all I can say is: it's great. Encourages working as a team, and entering the group queue (for the usual PUGs).
Plus, I've dropped with some pretty cool dudes so far from many ELO levels. The lower ones, we get to help and teach, so they won't have a terrible time when they go back to the PUG queue. And the higher ones usually present valuable tactics, or strong leadership. ALL of the players I played with (in my lance at least) were courteous and helpful, no elitism in sight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
My only (small) complaints & suggestions about this challenge:
-Things like Component Destructions, and Savior Kills should've given points as well.
-1/4 point for Components and 1/2 for Savior Kills,
-These less-than-one points should not count though, unless you get enough to add to a whole number.
ex. You have to destroy 4 components to get one point. Destroying 1,2, or 3 components gets you nothing. Destroying 5 gets you 1 point, destroying 8 gets you 2 points.
-If your lance had the top overall match score on your team, you all get one point.
-The challenge is basically 'go for tier 3 or bust' for casual players. If you're gonna go for the first tier (auto starting premium time) then you might as well just use that ticking premium time to grind to Tier 3, and then youll get the 6.5m CB on top.

On the other hand I'm not participating myself, since there's basically no social functions in the game so I'd have to spend hours effectively googling for teams which is not fun.

All you have to do is announce in public chat "anyone want to group up" and chances are you'll find people. Certainly doesn't take hours, takes a few minutes. There's also always a thread somewhere on here about needing a group, post your name in it and you'll usually get a handful of requests.
