Has anyone considered that the hiring ad for PGI that's been around for years means they've hired another team to work on the other game?

Has anyone considered that there is no reason to assume this new game has absolutely no investors, especially that of a publisher, that would the primary means of financing the new game and that there is no reason to believe MWO proceeds migrated to the new game at all?

Let's not be melodramatic forum queens here and start spreading mis-information and unsubstantiated tripe because some of us are bitter, miserable, entitled narcissist with woefully unrealistic expectations, no patience and no clue.

I'm not saying its impossible for the new game to have used resources from MWO, but I'm mature enough not to go off the handle because it might have. Some of you have no other purpose but to spread angst by imagining the worst and spreading it in the forum as if it's truth. Truly, you are the most miserable of people.

PGI has a track record. If they didn't, I would be on your side and give them the benefit of the doubt. They have ruined burned that bridge............. 20 + times. So no, No Sir, They get get no Quarter .............

Man I'm so done with PGI, MWO, and anything PGI is part of. I've not logged into the game for 2 days now.. I check the forums from time to time hoping that they rolled back the nerfs. I mean someone at PGI has to have the balls to say maybe we ****** up and does something to fix it..

But as far as this new game they making, I would rather play Star Citizen even if it sucked compared to the new PGI game just to spite them for what they did to Mechwarrior. I mean sooner or later they gonna screw that game up to, PGI only knows how to take and take.. they take your money and then take capability to force you to spend more money, then do it all over again.. I'm DONE.

Nope.

Game development company is hired to develop....games.

Why do people seem to thin k that PGI is apparently supposed to just be a "Mechwarrior Studio"?
MWO is a persistent F2P, so it will never be "finished" until the servers go dark. Expecting them not to work on other games in the meantime, is actually rather cute and naive. It's also ever been just a niche game, and if you truly believe this single IP is going to be self supporting for a company trying to grow in the industry, you need to a reality check

(hint, if MW was such a hot, vaunted title, it would not have sat dormant for a decade, aside from fan product, and PGI would not have needed a crowdsource funding to get going. Microsoft is many things, but they do know how to make money)

Since we have no details until Tuesday, and don't know if this is an in-house game idea, or they have been contracted by another company (as has been their usual method), makes all the forum QQ about it currently....rather ignorant, as in we don't know the facts, so perhaps waiting until after we do, before whining, may be the intelligent approach?

Would more info be nice? Yes. Then again, considering the tendencies of this communities forums throughout the years to go off half cocked, twist info and then cause massive forum chaos over it (see: Founders Money used for MWTactics nonsense), are we truly surprised they kept it under wraps until they apparently felt they had enough to share to possibly assuage some of the concerns?

If 6 months to a year ago, they had announced they were working a second game, all it would have gotten them was more grief and nonsense for the last 6 months to a year.

So before the torches and pitchforks come out, let's see if there is a reason for them to, on Tuesday?

LOL is there any reason to believe a damned thing you just said or anything PGI says. NOPE

I do know if I burn my finger by touching something hot, I tend not to do it again it's just that simple.. no malice or thought needed.

Gotta blame IGP for this one. (Still think at least SOME of M:Os issues come from IGP, but you can't really blame your boss, even when it's justified..... though.... balance issues..... I'm kinda past giving Paul benefit of doubt.)

If it doesn't effect MWO, that I'm all for PGI trying to make money and produce another game.

If it spells doom for MWO, I'd be irked, but I don't expect that it will. A diversified company with it's eggs in more than one basket is healthier, and perhaps things they learn in the new game might help out MWO.

IGP fail, not PGI.

Arguments tend to be more powerful if accurate and valid.

PGI took loan from IGP to get started before Founders pack. Part of founders money went to repay loan to IGP. What IGP did with it from there, not related to MWO or PGI at all.

PGI has failed miserably enough, legitimately in enough areas, without digging up old half truths and rumors, too.
