Liking your own post too? really?

and for more "Info" since apparently you think it's Hard to do and will take them YEARS or WEEKS to make..

How? easy. Num pad #'s or F-keys

(Heading, place bet on: will progress like ordering commands to lance mates in mw 2-4)

team (will be labled)
1 Average joes
2 Bodybuilder mechs

Then numbers of cbills with Odds for/against

1 500 cbill
2 1000
3 5000
4 10000
5 20000
6 30000
7 50000

Why?

Because why watch spectator mode? Betting afterwords may encourage people to talk and develop a community, at least maybe get excited about a match they're already out of. It lets them be involved after dieing and gives them a reason to stick around, or is that still "incoherent" and "illogical" to you?

Perhaps I should just yell "MEH WANTZ BETS NOWZZ!!!!!11!!!" that better? I think I was rather easy going saying "Betting SHOULD be allowed in, if they can do the following and not make it imbalanced, unfair or such. (gold farming etc)"

Am I "overreacting" or such as I feel you might say? well you don't start with "I don't mean to drop a hot, steaming pile of poop all over your nice, white party here," then go onto do just that for the point of being bad. You didn't give us a reason NOT to include it either.

Beside when they are on downtime between stuff it's a VALID option to develop it when they have time, I never said "DO THIS OVER ADDING MECHS AND PATCHING THE GAME". I simply said they should add it, eventually.

You're free to reply to this, but I'm done with any "No" without a valid reason and that's simply here to **** off people with valid ideas.

I think the only way anything like this would be implemented would be thru a non-player Solaris system. You have two computer opponents fighting with a random outcome. Be fun to spectate but I am thinking it really isnt feasible.

First of All: Implying that my motivation is solely to try and "urinate" people off is below the belt.
Second of All: If one asks a developer to change their plans, to please selfish desires, with no regards to cultural issues, then one would be wise to argue as strongly as possible for one's case. In this case, that case isn't argued at all, beyond "Wouldn't it be cool? I totes think they should do it!"
Third of All: Calm down! We are having a civil conversation here, no need for hostilities, friend :P
Fourth of All: I like my own posts, because they are the written expression of my thoughts and opinions upon a subject. If I didn't like my own thoughts and opinions, I'd have bigger issues to worry about.
Fifth of All: If you felt singled out, then I'm sorry for that. I just press Quote randomly at times when I want to post in a thread. It is a trait I have from my mother, who will randomly ask strangers what they meant, when they didn't mean anything, or even talk to her.
Sixth of All: Betting is illegal in many places.
Seventh of All: The onus is on you, dear pal of mine, to show a logical and clear path from your desire, to why the developers of MathWarrior: Oline should follow that desire.
Eight of Whiskey: Using the word "should" in a post-Kant world is meaningless. There is no "should".
Ninth of All: Relax and have fun - that's the BattleTech motto after all!

See you on the fighting fields of glory.

I think in a military game, betting is always a good idea.

How it is done, is the hard part. Would need to be small amounts and these things are usually to fill time at a point in the game where a player may find themselves waiting.

It'd be impossible to moderate but be awesome to battle for pink slips to your mechs :)

Arena Matches/Ladders/Tourneys would make a nice addition.

I like the idea of betting. Fixed matches may be a problem though.

this could cause trouble in some coutries that PGI wants to get the game into, european law, and laws in the Asia pacific are very fuzzy on in game gambling. and if PGI somehow starts to sell C-bills (Unlikely) then its a gaol time offence.

That's the difficulty behind it. Wasn't that why Pokemon lost the slots games?

Not sure about the legality of it but if it's allowed it should only be allowed on Solaris as that's the only place something like this would fit.

Solaris all the way!
Problem is you need a way to keep people from betting on themselves vs and other team. And talking the other team to forfeit the match.

Since this game will be based on sucession wars, merc contracts, and planet holding. I would only see this in Solaris.
